i would love sheets, less $$$ than burnett (who had injuries like sheets),and imo just as good if not better when healthy. thats key though, will sheets make it a full year? the trade for Javier Vazquez isnt that great imo. gave up the hottest prospect for an overpaid starter. flowers (the catcher in the deal) tore it up in fall/winter ball, huge power. he was blocked in the braves system, but coulda been used in a trade for peavy (who makes about what Javier Vazquez does).

The Braves are now going to try to get one of the guys from Japan. Kenshin Kawakami

The Philies have signed our very own Asian pitcher today...Chan Ho Park......fear us. :)

(we also just signed Jamie Moyer to another 2 years which means he will be pitching until he is 87 years of age)

i smell a trade. smoke screen by saying kelly and escobar arnt going anywhere. i hope its peavy and not greinke. if we give up escobar in a deal for greinke, im gona be pissed. i mean he is a ok pitcher, and has the stuff, but rather keep him and deal more prospects for a better pitcher (ie peavy).

rumor is 10 mill a year for furcal. good deal.

Well crap, now it looks like LA is trying to throw more money his way to try and keep him.

Braves.com is now saying the Braves are "close" to signing him. They say he might be moved to second, but I think Escobar has a much higher trade value and will be needed to get a good pitcher.

    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
    • I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
