When trying to decide our perfect draft just for poop and giggles, I went off the basis that Fisher will be gone off the board and Gross will restructure in effort to stay. My dream 1st rd would be landing Fisher and kicking Gross back to RT. With that said and assuming Fisher is gone, here is what I deem is the perfect draft for the Panthers:

With the 14th pick of the 2013 NFL draft, the Carolina Panthers select:

Jesse Williams, DT from Alabama!

STRENGTHS: Has a naturally wide frame with relatively short limbs, giving him the low center of gravity conducive to holding up at the point of attack.

Possesses unbelievable weight-room strength (600 pound bench press) that translates well onto the football field due to his use of leverage and surprisingly good technique considering the fact that he's a relative neophyte who only took up the game at age 15 and has played just four seasons of football in the United States.

Has improved his use of hands over his two seasons at Alabama and has developed into a cognitive defender capable of reading the action, shedding the block with heavy, active hands and making the tackle in the hole.

Has the length to play outside as a five-technique defensive end, a role in which he initially played during his junior season with the Tide before sliding inside to the nose as a senior. Good phone-booth quickness and plays hard, competing to the whistle.

Also served as Alabama's short-yardage fullback in 2012, a testament to his power and aggression. An ascending talent with passion and work ethic to improve.

Big space eater in the middle that allows our defense to compete! Let's the play makers make plays!

He is compared to Vince Wilfork! I will take that all day and every day with this pick!

2nd Rd. Pick-Eric Reid, FS from LSU

Compared to Laron Landry. He is the hard hitting Safety that the defense is missing! Needs to be coached up but he can strike fear in those going across the middle! Gives the D some attitude!

4rd Rd. Pick-Tyrann Mathieu, CB from LSU

A baller! Plain and Simple! Finalist in the 2011 Heisman that has greatness written all over him! Well worth the risk in the 4th Rd.

5th Rd. Pick-Garrett Gilkey, OL from Chadron State

Four small-college players to watch from the Senior Bowl...Garrett Gilkey is an offensive guard from Chadron State and he is one physical player that loves to battle in the trenches. Any team interested in a power guard that can move a defensive tackle will be interested in Gilkey. How this guy didn't play for a team like Nebraska or Wisconsin coming out of Chicago is a mystery to me. - Pat Kirwan, CBSSports.com

6th Rd. Pick-Dustin Hopkins, K from FSU

The highly regarded prep kicker proved worthy of praise almost immediately, hitting a 52-yarder against rival Miami on the first attempt of his career. He's improved his accuracy each of his four seasons in Tallahassee and has the leg strength to make long-distance field goals as well as kickoff.

7th Rd pick-Levine Toilolo, TE from Stanford

STRENGTHS: Large target with the natural length to pluck the ball away from his frame. Balanced athlete with body control and long-striding speed. Good job locating and high-pointing to go up and secure it. Nice job beating press and releasing to gain a step vertically.

Good open-field patience to set up his routes and can be a nightmare in single coverage. Very good extension and focus to make difficult grabs. Tough after the catch and flashes a physical demeanor in the trenches. Experience lining up in the backfield, slot and in-line and makes plays at all levels of the field. Strong football bloodlines.

The Wildcard here that would make this draft truly perfect is trading into the 2nd with a combination of next year's picks/players and grabbing this guy:

Da'Rick Rogers, WR from Tennessee Tech

Rogers is a virtual Julio Jones clone, exhibiting an exciting combination of size, strength and explosiveness.

He signed with Tennessee as one of the most highly regarded prep prospects in the entire country, and immediately showed off his versatility, racking up 167 yards as a receiver and 117 yards as a runner (reverses, etc.).

Rogers was expected to serve as the complementary piece to Justin Hunter in 2011, but stepped up once his teammate was injured and went on to lead the SEC with 1,040 receiving yards in 2011. He eclipsed the 100-yard mark in six games, one short of a Tennessee record, and earned First Team All-SEC honors by the media and league coaches.

slot corners can be great??? i guess...as long as he return about 5 punts a year.....dont see him doing to much else.....greg ried i have alittle faith in because he tougher and nastier...but tyrann...just dont know man...

covering aint his best skill.
