Game 26: Carolina Hurricanes (15-9-1) vs. Washington Capitals (10-14-1)

Recommended Posts

After dominating the Capitals a few nights ago, the Canes return home in hopes of doing it again. The Canes will look to keep rolling and it gets better, both Tuomo Ruutu and Joni Pitkanen skated today and both are getting closer and closer to returning.

The Canes will go with the following line-up...

Jiri Tlusty - Eric Staal - Alexander Semin

Jeff Skinner - Jordan Staal - Jussi Jokinen

Drayson Bowman - Riley Nash - Patrick Dwyer

Chris Terry - Tim Brent - Tim Wallace

Jay Harrison - Justin Faulk

Tim Gleason - Joe Corvo

Bobby Sanguinetti - Jamie McBain

Dan Ellis

Justin Peters

Inactive: Kevin Westgarth

Injured: Tuomo Ruutu (hip), Joni Pitkanen (lower body), Chad LaRose (concussion), Cam Ward (MCL)

The Capitals look like they are going to be going with Michael Neuvirth in goal who has an abysmal 1-4-1 record this year. The Caps will be without Brooks Laich, Tom Poti, John Erskine, Mike Green, and Jack Hillen.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
