Okay I know we just had the draft

As just said, any of the major receivers. Unlike this year, next year's class actually seems loaded with top ten talent at the top. Marquise Lee, Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans are potentially elite prospects.

Predicting 2014 NEEDS: WR, OT, S, CB, OG, DE, OLB

(Another damn good OT class. That's why you dont reach for an OT in 2013 if you dont need one yet. Franchise OTs come in every single year.)

WR: Marqise Lee USC, Sammy Watkins Clemson, Jordan Matthews Vanderbilt, Cody Hoffman BYU,

OT: Taylor Lewan Michigan, Jake Matthews Texas A&M, Cyrus Kouandjio Alabama, David Yankey Stanford, Ja'Wunn James Tennessee

S: Craig Loston LSU, Lamarcus Joyner FSU, Brian Blechen Utah, Ty Zimmerman KSU, C.J. Barnett OSU, Nickoe Whitley Miss State

CB: Bradley Roby OSU, Aaron Colvin Oklahoma, Justin Gilbert Oklahoma State, Bennett Jackson Norte Dame, Jason Verrett TCU, Darqueze Denard Michigan State

OG: Cyril Richardson Baylor, Gabe Jackson Miss State, Anthony Steen Alabama

DE: Jadeveon Clowney USC, Jackson Jeffcoat Texas, Will Sutton Arizona State, Morgan Breslin USC, Kareem Martin UNC

OLB: C.J. Mosely Alabama, Anthony Barr UCLA, Kyle Van Noy BYU

WR and OT for me in the 1st round. So much talent potentially next year. Finding Smitty's or Gross's replacement is very much possible.

Guys I want the most at this point

1) Marquise Lee - Have watched him since he's a freshman... he fuging amazing. Doubt we get him unless a trade up.

2) Cyrus Kouandjio

3) Sammy Watkins

4) David Yankey

5) Louchiez Purifoy

Lee from USC is in the AJ Green range, so like you said, unless we trade up, not getting him..... though anything can happen in a year. I really thought Lewan was going to come out this year, so he should be the top OT taken, IMO. I'm thinking the best WR/OT/CB in the 13-20 range of the draft is what we're looking at, realistically.

this is why i watch college football, and being a football junkie. i look at just about every college game to scout prospects for the NFL and how they will translate. i talk about the draft year around as well.

I love the draft. I live for the draft. I begin looking at next year draft the second the draft is done.

I don't scout players though. I just listen to the experts' analysis and watches highlights near the end of the season.

According to this mock the Panthers get.... Marquise Lee....

I don't think my penis would fare well if this pick were to happen...

It would be hard to think will be in a position to take Lee. It should be a top5-10 pick considering he doesn't have a bad season.

If we play well this season, I wouldn't oppose to trade up for Lee at all.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
