Kobe Bryant Suing His Mom

So, basically, Kobe left all this poo he's won over the years at his childhood home. Mom wants to move to Las Vegas and Kobe refused to front her $450k for said home, offering $250k instead.

Kobe Bryant's mother then finds an auction house to front her the $450k in exchange for an estimated $1.5M worth of swag.

See what happens when you don't clean up your room?

BTW, this is Kobe's contract for the next couple years (Rotoworld):

2012-13: $27,849,149.
2013-14: $30,453,805.
2014-15: UFA

Apple falls not far from the tree....

...didn't Kobe buy his wife, Vanessa, a $4M, 8-carat diamond just 3 days after Colorado prosecutors filed rape charges against him in the Colorado "let's bang the hired help" hotel visit?

He set the precedent for paying people off, why can't his Mom get some of that action?

Lol Kobe has already bought his mother two houses ... how many ***** houses does she need?

Sources close to Kobe Bryant tell me he was blindsided by the news of his parents planning to sell his high school memorabilia.

According to sources, Kobe has given his parents "millions of dollars in financial assistance" throughout his 17-year NBA career

I mean, if I am Kobe I would probably just give her the money, but I'm pretty sure that the 450k is only for the down payment (from what I understand), and he offered her 250k. He's already given her millions and has bought her multiple houses, all while his parents refused to have anything to do with him for years after he married his wife. Of course, we all laugh at Allen Iverson for being broke now after making over 200 million for his career...

I don't like Kobe but I don't see how anyone can criticize him in this situation. In this world parents chose children, children don't choose parents. No child owes his parents anything, and certainly not 450,000 dollar homes.

She should go learn a trade and buy her own stuff. Just because someone your related to is rich doesn't mean you're entitled to their money.

"No child owes his parents anything..."

Really? It's that general pervasive attitude that's created one of the worst society's in the world for taking care of our elderly.

Now, I couldn't care less about Kobe or his mother and this instance simply shows the opposite extreme, but we do owe it to ourselves as well as our parents and other people's parent who don't have the financial wherewithal to take care of themselves to provide something better.

Let's be fact based.

- Kobe is not suing his mother. Kobe started legal action against the auction house to stop the sale of his items.

- Through the years, Kobe has bought his mother million dollar mansions on top of other money he has given her.-

- Mama Bryant asks Kobe for money for a down payment on a new home. Kobe offers her $250,000. She declines because it wasn't enough.

- It is a down payment for a home that would be in the 2.5 - 4 million dollar range in Las Vegas where the median price is $148,000.

- Mama Bryant gets an advance for $450,000 and the items are now in the hands of the auction home

- Kobe has no idea that his mother was going to sell his memorabilia.

- Mama Bryant admits that she did not have permission to sell the items.

- What Kobe spends on his wife for her birthday has nothing to do with the situation.

With those facts, how can Kobe be in the wrong unless you otherwise are just a hater?

Because this is not some "leach" this is his damn mom. The woman who birthed him, changed his diapers, and fed him for 17 years. Without her or his dad (who is estranged from) there would be no Kobe Bryant. Kobe had a 30 million dollar contract this year, he probably made over 400,000 a game. Thats nothing to him. He should've just given her the money and been done with it. Dude has spent more on his side women/mistresses or paying off things for his wife's family (homes, businesses, etc), but it says a lot about his character that he doesnt do that for his own family. And if his stuff was so important why wasnt it at his home? Most athletes keep all their stuff on them in a trophy room, this was stuff that Kobe had left years ago.

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
