Yeah didn't do to well. Tried a few different spots with not so much as a bite. Caught a bunch of perch while just jigging, but zero cats. Read that the cats may be spawning right now which would explain it.

The bigger question is why would anyone intentionally want to catch catfish

 

the only way i can stand fishing is if i'm going after bass because there's constant action.

jugging is not too bad as you spend quite a bit of time around the fire eating and such

rod n reel when nothing is biting out on a boat is taxing

when catfishing if you haven't caught anything in 30 minutes you need to pull anchor and move.  or try drifting to cover a wider area and find out where they are.  or know where they like to be in the river and lake system depending on the season and weather.

 

i can't stand casting endlessly to catch a couple of bass.   i'd rather put 3-4 rods out  and sit back and catch a buzz and wait.
