So youd rather have gonzalez instead of olsen and white instead of smith?

Ask your self what smitty would have done lined up alongside julio jones and what olsen would have done with ryan who is a more accurate short passer than Cam. You cant compare numbers you have to look at the players.

fitz is a key example of this.

Fitz played with the worst starting qbs in nfl history not the same.

To answer your question yes I would take Julio over Steve Smith today. If we are talking Steve smith in his prime its not even close. What people don't want to admit about Smityy is that he has become an inconsistent player and will drop some catchable balls.

Also I would take Tony G over Olsen today and its not close

People do not understand how very very small of a talent difference there is from team to team in the nfl. qbs are the main seperators. You either have one or you dont. Cam is the only extremely talented qb in this league who has not been to the playoffs. Its put up or shut up time.

You don't have to debate. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't. Matt Ryan doesn't have the best two seasons of a Qb in nfl history, Cam Newton Does. If you don't think he has vastly more weapons than Cam then you need to lay off the prescriptions.

This is the ultimate team sport it's not put up or shut up for any one player because he's been putting up he doesn't have the talent around him period.

I dont know what you guys dont understand. The jaguars could have had the 85 bears on defense and still sucked last year. The saints had the WORST DEFENSE EVER last year and still went a respetable 7-9. Its a team game but everything hinges on your qb.

The Ravens won the Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer. The Bears went to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman. The Golden Calf of Bristol currently has more playoff wins than Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Andrew Luck, RG3, Christian Ponder, Jake Locker, and Josh Freeman combined all currently starting young qbs while The Golden Calf of Bristol is not. Also to your own words prove my point the Saints only went 7-9 because it is a team game. Meaning no matter how good your qb is it doesn't mean poo if there isn't a team around him. Too many times last year our QB walked off the field with a lead and walked into the locker room with a loss.

I hope you dont think i think newton is bad. I just dont think roddy white and tg are better then smith and olsen. Id disagree about cam leaving with a lead and leaving the field with a loss. to me the goal of the team would be taking a knee and watching the clock run down, how many times did we take a knee and win a game last year?

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
