The Rockets are in advanced talks on a cap-clearing trade of forward Thomas Robinson, with a deal potentially “imminent,” a person with knowledge of their plans said on Tuesday.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and San Antonio Spurs have shown interest in Robinson, according to another individual with knowledge of the Rockets efforts to move Robinson’s $3.5 million salary next season. Though it would be difficult for the Spurs to make any sort of deal for Robinson directly with the Rockets and would likely have to add a third team in a larger deal.

The Rockets have also had talks with the Chicago Bulls, according to the person familiar with negotiations so far, but he said that unlike with the Spurs and Cavaliers, he did not know if the Bulls were interested in Robinson or could be part of a larger deal.

Would love to have him here. Hope he goes to SA, not Cleveland. If he lands in Cleveland, that's going to be even more young pieces to build together for a future contending team along Irving.

agreed! want him here. think he would be a great complement to the pieces around us for depth purposes

I dont think it'd cost a leg for T-rob especially with Houston wanting to move him.

I guess Cho and MJ just doesn't see a fit. I mean T-rob clearly fit a "need" position on our team. I dont know why we wouldnt want to make a move for him.

if we honestly don't make a move for him, im going to say he must have not impressed at all in interviews last year. I hate to speculate but its the only thing that makes sense

    • From what I can say, Wallace will keep the green dot. 🤷‍♂️ I just say what I hear. lol
    • Lloyd next to Wallace gives them two lb that can blitz well and get sacks from inside as well as better coverage so they don't have to rely on Wallace to always drop into zone, they'll be able to get him downhill attacking the los more comparatively to what they did last year. Also adding Philips means Scranton sees less double teams and should open him up as a pass rusher and allows them to bring Princely on the field on obvious passing downs to rush the passer because they can move Phillips down onto the line in those situations.    So on obvious passing downs the front seven will probably look like this majority of the time.  Edge - Scourton  Dt - Philips  NT- Brown Dt - Wharton Edge - Umanmielen/Jones  ILB - Lloyd ILB - Wallace
