Yeah, I actually saw him in person, passing him in the tunnel at the Dean Dome.  We played UNC's JV that night and the varsity played against UNC-Asheville afterwards.  Dude WAS GIGANTIC.  I remember feeling bad for him thought because he just looked like he wasn't in it, and the crowd was laughing at everything he did like it was some kind of circus show.  When he blocked shots people treated him like he was a freak rather than a basketball player...  I can't really describe it, but I felt really uncomfortable.  And I'm sure he would've gotten a chance in the league because of his size, but man, it took him FOREVER to get from one end of the court to the other.

WTF?  Just googled him out of curiosity to see what he is doing since the amputation and apparently he made a semi-comeback and played pro ball in the Czech Republic in 2011. 

 

Wow, good to hear.

 

You mean he is seriously out there playing with half a foot? that is crazy. Good for him.

Yup.  Fox Sports South actually showed part of our game against the JV on the highlights as a lead-in to the UNC/UNC-A game.

 

It was just weird though.  I can't really put it into words.  People were laughing, chuckling, and taunting him the whole time.  And not like normal fan taunts...  They were acting like he wasn't even a human.  I was embarrassed to be there and for whatever reason, that always stuck with me from that night.

I'm praying for Len, Bennett, or Noel at 4. I'm ok with the TWolves trade mentioned above but it won't happen. No to Seller at 4 but I have a gut feeling that's what's going to happen. 

 

Cho...do not do any trades that give up out firsts or the Detroit and Portland 1sts. Those could be gold next draft.

      I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.

      Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.

      Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
