I don't think that anyone is questioning that. Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself, but what the main point is is that perhaps Barner is a player that should have gone way higher than the 6th round, making him a prospect for the greatest value in not only our draft, but the draft---certainly in the conversation depending on how it all pans out.

 

Oh I agree. I was just pointing out why having BPA drafting philosophy is so important. Gettleman also focused on drafting players that fit the coach's system. According to the post draft interviews, Barner was apparently hotly debated with the coaching staff advocating for him because they wanted a scat back. So it's not pure BPA, but I agree with what Gettleman has said. 

 

Actually it's kinda cool to go back and watch some of these interviews. Gettleman sounds even more awesome as time goes on. It's still very early but Gettleman has been waiting to be the head guy in a draft for like 10 years, and you can tell he was pleased with his first one, and so far it looks like we should be pleased too.
