Went to camp last week

I wrote this all up and was. . well I was gettin loose while I was writing it and deleted it all through the usual "I'll just hit this button, NO WAIT HIT BACK awww ffffffug". So here's my second attempt at it. I have to warn you before you read. I was screwing around the entire time I was there and scoping at the panther's ladies. The blond with the loose hips is my kind of gal. I watched about 5 plays so I must apologize to my brothers and sisters who have all put in the time to do camp write ups before me.

Well, I did get to meet General Zod. He is bigger than I expected. If you play/ed basketball, he's like a 3, maybe a 2 in his younger days. The General is gracious to his minions. When I was walking by, I looked up in the stands from the fence to say hello and he came right over to shake hands. Its good to meet the man behind the blue curtain. Hmm I wonder if that was Panthro next to him on the hill with the glasses? Told him I hadnt been paying attention at all and he gave a look like " awww slacker", which I was. I was thankful that I did not have to drop and give him twenty in retrospect. Mostly, I was just taking things in so that I could remember every second of it. Watching plays now is cool but this Friday is when it matters.

I saw Gettis, not sure what to tell you other than his body language didnt look right that day. I say that very cautiously because sometimes you have good days and sometimes you have bad. I cant say much, but his speed was still there for sure. Ginn is ridiculously fast. Its not that he's a strider so much as he just swallows distance with every step when he chooses. Idk, I think his feet will be plenty quick enough. Im interested in seeing more with him than Hixon now. Hixon is as advertised. Pilares is slimmer this year again, there's an underrated amount of power in them legs. I just dont know how this all going to play out yet but Im on the edge of my seat with this WR competition. AE seems to have the inside track right now? We'll see.

The autograph signing part was the part where I had the most fun, of course. I got to thank every single one of them for everything they do. Even Beas and D'lo who were just running by, I made sure they heard it too which they nodded and acknowledged with a thank you back. Some troops there as well.

Gross came by and I asked "The Legend from Samoa" when the album was coming out, told him I'll be buying it. I asked when Kalil was gonna do one and he chuckled that he's more of a harmony guy. Bell was there, only one with his helmet still on, lol strange. Star isnt that tall but he's doublewide. He's a walking wall of a man and its kind of funny cause his face is still so young. Yes I did notice the hair, its kind of mean looking actually, but with those arms he could make a George Jefferson cut look good.

When I saw Smith. . now Ive never been 2 feet from him before. . . he looks like you took a normal guy that height and then stretched him wide another 6 inches. He is a solid brick of a dude. . . like The Thing. Smitty looks like the fuggin Thing. How is it possible that he flies around like that? and yet is he's also agile. Told him he is one of the greatest athletes the world has ever seen and of course thanked him for all the things he does. Lol, he kind of smiles like The Thing also. He looks like he could crush rocks in his mouth.

Cam and Luke, both cool as poo. Luke is very loose, didnt know that. He jokes with the kids like Cam does. Funny guy. Got to thank "Mr. Boogie" too. What else can I say about that. . you had to be there.

Godfrey came by and I asked him "all 8 of em?" He nodded and smiled while he was signing. He looked up and said "I got in a little trouble for that" and I told him "Eh, do whatever you need to do to get right, thats all". He's seems eager to get the season under way and show what the secondary can do. Seems to have a chip on his shoulder about the talk about that group being weak.

I saw lots of others, Blackburn is very vocal and a cool guy. Senn and TD were there, I should have more to TD, but he was quiet so I didnt want to disturb him. LaFell came by "DAT DEAAAAL". . all I could say was "Show em, #11, just show em". Nortman came by and signed the ball some folks had who were just in front of me. They were like "Ehhh  aww alright you can sign it too".

Good times, I'll never forget it.

    • The reset worked with proton.me.. wouldn’t work with my Gmail, Yahoo or Verizon email accounts
    • Wish they started at 5:30 or 6 at the latest so I can watch it. I have to be in bed by start time.
    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
