Who uses their desktop computer with their TV?

I looking to buy another desktop computer and I was thinking about just setting it up to my TV. Desktop computers are coming with Blu-Ray players and wireless mice and keyboards. So why not just make your TV into a computer monitor?

I was wondering if anyone does this, and how do they like it?

I use mine for my 360. It's very convenient so I can watch tv on the big screen and use my PC/360 at the same time. I purchased a VGA box for it so I can switch between my PC/360 w/ the push of a button.

I have two friends who use theirs for TV/PC though and they seem to like it.

I have my main PC hooked to both a monitor and a 1080P TV so I can use it with either in my office. I have a laptop that I sometimes hook to another HDTV. Then of course I have an HTPC hooked to my main 1080P 58". I obviously love it.

i use my computer monitor to get HD tv, i record panthers games straight to my hardrive. It comes in at 720p.

A 24" computer monitor is large enough to handle 1080p and looks very good. They usually come with 1 or 2 hdmi inputs which makes them a great option if you don't want a large screen. A good monitor in that range is around 300 bucks(give or take $50).

And I would think about building your own computer too because you oculd really customize it without spending a bunch of extra dough. Those desktops can be very gimmicky with what they add on them. If you want blue-ray you will also want enough storage and processing/graphical power to handle it.

Hmmm, building my own computer. That sounds interesting.

    • Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.
    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
