seahawks observations and my prediction

I feel like our biggest intangible weakness is discipline. This RR coached team gets a lot of penalties. I don't think a game goes by where someone doesn't get a personal foul called on them. We have GOT to minimize the mental mistakes because Seattle is a smart, well-coached team that can beat us merely with patience.

I wouldn't be surprised if we do get out to an early lead. What worries me in that scenario is 1) a drop off in energy and pace, 2) mental mistakes on 3rd down that either spoil momentum for us or help build momentum for them, and 3) letting them back in the game late in the 4th quarter. If we can keep the intensity high and maintain mental focus, then I think beating Seattle is a real possibility.

The difference could be special teams and turnovers. I think we have an advantage in that department because we are playing at home. If this game were in Seattle, I'd put money on the Seahawks to win. I think fans will be fired up and the stadium ( for once) probably won't be filled up with Seahawks fans.

If RR can somehow give these guys the mental edge, we have a decent chance. A big win would go a long way toward building momentum heading up to Buffalo as well.

This is going to be a low scoring defensive battle. We have to force TO and put our Offense in easy scoring positions. Also with better special teams play we should be more effective playing a field position game with them.

And the best way you beat a fast defense is to pound the rock down their throat all game until they wear down. By the 4th quarter 3 yard runs turn into 6 or 7 yard runs. So we need the power run game to happen for us in this game.
