Shaq was voted team captain and led the offseason workouts for the defense. He was the guy that got after the defense in the locker room over poor performances.
He's a solid LB that can cover, rush, and line up in multiple spots on the field. He rarely misses a tackle (evident by the less than 6% missed tackle rate last season).
Unfortunately, the fact that he was brought in to be insurance in case TD went down again and got paid when the team had next to nobody to take over at LB after Luke retired has created a false narrative that he's "just a guy" or "decent but can't cover."
With Shaq, Burns, Chinn, Brown, Horn, Jackson, Abouye, Reddick, Perryman, Carter Jr, and Jones the defense is just another safety away from being scary good.
Despite all evidence to the contrary. And in his usual move, treat this proof like it doesn’t exist. Who else is it that admitted to being banned multiple times, and says exactly what he has preached for a year? That people fell, and are still falling for this is just sad.
I agree there is a double standard and Watson should be on the exempt list by now. But you have to remember that went down around the same time as the Ray Rice elevator footage was all over the internet. That was all in one summer. The league needed to make an example and timing doomed Hardy's career.
