Anyone else find it funny that suddenly, "sophmore slumps" arent even possible anymore?

I was absolutely baffled by the Gabbert hype on this board and in the media. Even Mayock had him as his #1 QB. I don't watch college football, but when I watched a few of his games, I saw David Carr or Jimmy Clausen.

Yeah, you didn't have to be an avid football viewer to know he was just awful. Mayock got paid off.

Count me in that group too.

 

I kept watching Gabbert's old games to try to see what they were raving about, and all I ever saw was a very ordinary looking pro prospect.

 

That episode finally convinced me to do my own evaluations of prospects. Not that I have any particular expertise, but nor do I have agents influencing me to pimp their guy. The whole pre-draft business has largely turned into a dog and pony show, and perhaps gets further from reality every year.

Try not watching ESPN. You can see any highlight you want on demand these days. Watch highlights, watch games, look up states and updates online. I haven't had cable in 8 years and won my football league last year and my baseball league this year.

Wilson was the closest (statistically) to Cam's rookie year. Luck had worst group to work with, but had easiest schedule. They only had to score 17 points avg to win they games they won. He did real good against those teams, but bad against teams like Pats and Ravens. I only watched one game of RGIII, the one vs Cowboys. He looked real accurate, but he is too fragile to make plays like Cam. (Running) Kaep, dont kno much about. So I won't comment. But I think Luck will have the "Sophmore Slump" because his schedule won't be as favoring. But now with Bradshaw at RB, he has some help.

Im sorry but Russell Wilson is in the perfect senario for sophmore slump. No offensive weapons and the rookie season wasnt that amazing to begin with and he has the most amount hype aside from RGIII

Wilson has no offensive weapons? Lynch, Golden Tate, Sydney Rice, Percy Harvin when he gets back. Yeah, he definitely doesn't have any offensive help... The surrounding cast of Wilson's is what made him so spectacular last season.

Apparently, it only matters when it fits the picture they want to paint.

Wilson will have another decent season playing for a very good team.

Kaepernick will struggle but it won't matter because he plays for arguably the best team in the league.

RG3 will get injured and/or struggle playing on a poor team.

Luck will have another mediocre year, but this year it will be exposed when his team is losing.

Cam is going to dominate. ESPN will have an aneurism.
