The Death of the NFL Read Option?

Chip Kelly is running that mfer into the ground. I wouldnt be surprised to see "death due to the read option" at this point. It is fun seeing Vick get lit up though.

The read option is a slow developing play. We don't have the personnel for it. If we're going to run the ball, we have to hit the hole or get off tackle before defenders get off their blocks, which is pretty fast. There's no time for "Look at what we're doing, guys, isn't it cute? Hope you fall for it!" by then Bell, Silitolu, and Gross have been blown up and there are defenders in the backfield. Williams has had success 2 weeks in a row running out of the I formation. Absolutely no success out of the option.

I think JR is worried about his "investment" getting hurt, thus the shackles. This team is a disgrace and probably couldnt beat clampson.

Read option or not, nobody can take away a QB's ability to run. It will always be there since it's just a different and safer way a QB can do designed runs..

The difference between how Kaepernick run the read option compared to Cam is the "time of decision making".

The read option is harder in the nfl because of the fast lineman. Now, we don't have to necessarily run the option alot. I just want cam to use his threat to take off running. I seen him hesitate alot over the last few weeks when he had a lane to take off.
