I don't usually bump old threads but this one was both awesome and ahead of it's time.  After reading a blurb about Cam vs. Vikings on espn (below)  I had to dig up this thread and thank the football gods that Leslie Frazier does not read the Huddle.

 

Cam Newton 
Passer rating: 143.4 
QBR: 91.7 
Analysis: Newton admittedly faced the Minnesota Vikings' substandard pass defense, but he forced nothing and turned small windows into big gains with accurate passing and timely running. He completed eight passes at or behind the line of scrimmage, allowing his receivers to do the rest, but also had a big 79-yard touchdown pass to Brandon LaFell. That was one of five completions (in five attempts) on third down for 119 yards. Both of his undesigned scrambles went for first downs, including one touchdown. The Vikings, it should be noted, declined to blitz Newton as much as other opponents this season. He entered the game facing five or more rushers on a league-high 48.6 percent of his dropbacks, but the Vikings sent an extra rusher only 31 percent of the time Sunday.

On the reverse of this, I hope the Panthers are prepared to counter the blitzes that will no doubt be coming this week from the Rams as I have no doubt that Jeff Fisher is aware of the early effectiveness of blitzing this offense.

      Not totally inaccurate, haha Except that kid wasn't as excited as I was.  I was yelling louder, and more, and running around the room in circles until I almost passed out from exhausting and was trying to catch my breath for a good 10 minutes because I'm way too old to be doing that, LOLOL Oh, and I tweaked a muscle in my shoulder from all the punching the air I was doing too. For as awesome as that pick was for me, it really screwed me up for a few days between my shoulder and lost voice (Wrexham securing back-to-back-to-back promotions Saturday afternoon contributed to that though too).

      Full disclosure and the real reason.... I'll be seeing my Nephew in basically one month from today, and while I've gotten him stuff from my other teams the past year, I hadn't been willing to saddle him with Panthers stuff yet, that's now changed lol. So if the jersey would get to me before I see him, I'd get that and him his first Panthers onesie/shirt so I can get a picture of us together in them. If it wouldn't get to me by then, I'd just wait to get the one I prefer.  So yea, my rush is really just about trying to get a picture of myself in it with my Nephew in Panthers gear too.
