NO/CAR playoff scenarios

Not what he said. He said if we were to lose another game the jets would be the team to lose to since it wouldnt hurt our conference record

I think I screwed that up a little

Using the playoff generator

If we split with the Saints there are 6 scenarios

1) Both Win out - Saints

2) Both Lose out - Saints

3) Both Win Week 15 and lose week 17 - Saints

4) Both Win Week 17 and Lose Week 15 - Saints

5) We win 15 and lose 17, they lose 15 and win 17 - Saints

6) We lose 15 and win 17, they win 15 and lose 17 - Carolina

So we need to sweep the Saints or have scenario 6 above

So if we split with NO and lose one more game... are we in the playoffs?

i'm 99.9% certain that gets us a wildcard berth. that would make us 11-5 assuming we win out of course. If both Arizona/Niners/Eagles/Cowboys winout they still have to play each other come week 17. Eagles @ Dallas and Niners @ Arizona. If Arizona beats the Niners in week 17 they still lose the Tiebreaker to the Niners. Works out for us because we own tiebreaker vs them so we would be the 5th seed. Same scenario with the Eagle and Dallas both are 7-5 highest both can get is 11-5 and 10-6. So magic number is 11-5

We have 8 wins in a row against many teams that were playing their best at the time. Of our 3 losses only one was by more than one touchdown.

Cam seems to play great under pressure and Tolbert and Ginn are heating up at the right time.

I don't have to tell anyone about our front 7.

Unless Mike Wallace impossibly shows up for NO this Sunday I trust our dbs.

I also think the Saints should be terrified about the improvement of Teddy Ginn Jr.

After we sweep the saints and beat the jets, do we rest the starters against Atlanta?

I say we start them and rest key players that need the rest. Then at the half pull all of our starters. In all seriousness i think our back ups can beat the Falcons.

Hell no, man. See Colts resting Peyton on their near perfect season and then losing their following playoff game.

I do see where you are coming from since it's been a LONG time since our bye week.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
