Rumor Bobcats Shopping MKG

Recommended Posts

Twitter world has been buzzing the past few days that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is going to be shopped once he returns from injury. I would have said this was a terrible idea two months ago but, we can ball hard if not harder without MKG. MKG is so full of talent but if he has a high value, pull the trigger.

I love MKG and I'd hate to see him go but like I said if the price is right pull the trigger. Maybe package him with Ben Gordon?

I don't see that happening now with Taylor done for the year.

If we traded MKG we would have a huge hole at small forward and while we could trade MKG for another small forward, you usually don't see same position trades unless one of the players is unhappy.

The only feasible trades I could see where MKG is shipped out for another small forward are posted below.

Charlotte Receives: Luol Deng (once he's recovered from his injury) and Tony Snell
Chicago Receives: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Ben Gordon, and a 2014 2nd round pick

Charlotte Receives: Evan Turner
Philadelphia Receives: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Charlotte Receives: Thaddeus Young, 2015 1st Round Pick (unprotected)

Philadelphia Receives: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Brendan Haywood

Yep, posted this a few moments before the Taylor news broke.. No way we move MKG now.

This is from the same guy who has said twice before that we were shopping MKG. He just throws crap at the wall to see what sticks.

He's actually accurate...

From what I can gather, all of the Bobcats' phone calls are about making this team better now. I'm even hearing rumblings that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will be on the table when he returns from injury. ESPN.com - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/charlotte_bobcats#sthash.WhEKlXuG.dpuf

I just realized y'all thought I was saying Jakob was making it up. I was referring to Chad Ford, the writer for ESPN. This is his third time saying we were going to trade MKG. I also believe he started the DeMarcus Cousins rumor. I might be wrong on that one. He is known in the NBA as the guy who makes up trade rumors to get viewers to his insider articles.

My bad for the confusion.

Ohhhhh okay...

That makes sense, I'm not really familiar with Ford other than his mocks so I'll take your word for it.

    • I liked Richardson in the draft and still do, but he's got to sit and be on a team willing to work with him and rebuild his throwing motion from the ground up. He was always a project, just like Josh Allen was a project player.    The bills suffered through him being awful throwing the ball and set up their system to protect him as best as possible while they rebuilt his throwing motion in pieces.
    • Bills had a 0.0017% chance to win this game when there was 4m left on the clock. 🤣
    • The noodle arm plays right into XL's supposed jumpball speciality and its why he was brought here. If he has butterfingers with Bryce's floaters I don't know how more zip on the ball would help. Really wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but Tetairoa being a 1-on-1 threat out the gate makes it difficult. Two different levels of prospects, I know, but if XL can't bring win those more often than not he's useless to us. Ginn and Benjamin had special traits that we stomached the drops for.
