DG: We are still cap challenged....RR: Coaches staying

If Gettleman doesn't get Ric Flair back in the fold, we might have to spend our first round pick on a washed up wrestler.

That could be expensive. Washed up wrestlers are a commodity. Between "roid rage" induced murder suicide and steroid induced cancers, they can be hard to come by.

No I'll wait until we're still poo on offense again, and everyone but you few retards are calling out Shula for what he is.

It's not like I'm saying something amazingly different. It's been said over and over since his promotion.

Well if you think your calling him out has any effect on what the team does then you really are an idiot.

Actually the real cause of the Benoit murder/suicide could be more attributed to frequent brain trauma which is comparable to what a number of retired football players have had to deal with.

The optimal word is "could be." It could be a combination of both so you are correct sir, there were multiple factors. Perhaps a perfect storm of steroids, frequent brain trauma, a failing marriage, etc. etc.

Oh. I get it. The "new" NFL makes all the difference. Shula has been on the sidelines of the "new" NFL presumably learning, adapting and even creating "new" philosophies to be successful in this "new" era.  I don't see evidence that he has done anything of the sort.  His imagination and creativity in play calling just wreaks of the 1990s, at best.

One thing that you can say about Rivera is that the team did improve once he got here, and improved every year that he has been here. Shula, who should have had a near seamless transition, has the offense near the bottom of the league. Our offense which was first in big plays in 2012, was dead last in big plays in 2013. That's the fact, and it sucks, just like Shula did in the old NFL, and so far in the "new" NFL.

You obviously don't get it.  He has been very creative this year as evidenced by the number of times we have had wide open receivers that Cam has hit quite often if given the time to throw.  Anyone who expected us to be in the top half of the offensive standings with a bottom ten receiver group and bottom 5 offensive line knows nothing about football.

Chud also was at the top of the league in three and outs.  I will take a sustained drive most times and TOP and an occasional score versus 3 or 4 straight 3 and outs and then the occasional big play.  Or did we forget that we scored as many points under Shula then we did in 2012 under Chud.  But lets ignore that because we want big plays not wins, right??

Our offense gave us a chance to we stayed ahead. It doesn't give a chance from being behind.

So did we have more game winning drives in the last 5 minutes of the game under Shula this year or the past 2 years under Chud??

I wonder how Miami, New England and New Orleans the second game feel about our ability to drive down the field at the end of the game to win.

Like shooting fish in a barrel.

LoL i don't think you can call anyone an idiot after you argued with many of us on how Cam's TD pass to Hixon wasn't a great throw, or how Cam's receivers bail him out all the time without being able to give examples.

That would be a non sequitur.  Look it up and get back with me.

My god!  How can people justify having a 28th ranked offense with Cam Newton? It's just not conceivable, really.

Only in the Huddle.

Never thought I'd see the day that people support Shulaball.  Shulaball is not something to be lauded. It should be scorned. It's like being forced to take castor oil.  There is a better way!

Yeah because Gettleman doesn't know what he is doing by keeping Shula.  He probably learned everything he knows from the huddle. Cause that is the only place that would support him......

Oh wait........................................

It's like you can't read. Cam pulled us out with last minute hurry up drives. Our offense philosophy showed in the 49er's game when we stalled in the third quarter with an eight minute drive to lose the game.

Again, you're a moron.

So I will answer the question since you apparently can't.  Cam directed more last minute drives this year under Shula's than he did the past 2 years under Chud.

And when you get over the butthurt and realize that we lost to a team who outplayed us across the board and played in the Superbowl last year and has significantly better talent at most positions other than quarterback you might be able to add to the conversation.  Meanwhile press on and prove to everyone else what I already know about you.  But forgive me if I stop the back and forth since if I want your kind of conversation I can have it with my 14 year old.

How many games did we lose because our defense gave up a last minute drive to lose the game? It doesn't matter as it has no bearing on our current team.

Jesus you're stupid, ignored.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
