would you sacrifice...

25% of our current defensive production to increase our offensive production by 50% next year? this is a legit question in terms of letting some key players walk and bringing in some as well. it is very realistic we could lose 2-3 of our defensive vets but if this makes us capable of coming back offensively, extending plays, producing the fullness of our run game game, I say  before the draft.

Like Gettleman said in the presser, we have to go through the NFC first.  All of the power-houses in our conference have very good defenses.  Even the saints d was very much improved.  I'd like to keep the defense as close to the top as possible.  We have a few pieces missing on both sides of the ball, but we're on the right track gentlemen.

I guess I'm old school but I would never sacrifice defense for offense. This defense is borderline legendary and all we need is moderate tweeks to the offense which I think are doable.

that's a great way to look at it... I'd sacrifice the db scrubs for one elite db and a super scrub for reserve... offensively I'm not sure what could sacrificed. its too much invested in the backfield.

nevertheless I'd slice these guys

Blackburn because of AJK

Josh Thomas because he's legendary at suckage

Godfrey because we have seen we don't have to have him and his contract is wildly too much

I expect most of the young guys back.  They are cheap and they are cheap.  Norman will be cut because we don't really need him and I don't think Rivera is very high on him.  We can probably find his replacement in an undrafted free agent (white and lester are decent examples).  Really it's up to the scouting dept to find the best talent/fit for this team.  The young guys will have a year under their belt, so hopefully they will only get better.  You can't forget at one time we had what, 6 rookies starting/playing large roles?

Defense over offense always.

Defense wins Superbowls.

Basicly true, but you can`t always win games 10-9 or 20-17. You have to score some points and can`t only rely on Cams legs and Tolberts 8 yrd bursts. The balance just isn`t right at the moment. I love our 2013 D but we have to give up something to get better. Just look at the Kraken situation and CJs cap.

Worst case scenario, our young guys have to step up.  The addition of Star and KK (who will only get better) will help whoever plays on the other side of Johnson.  Say we tag and trade, we get an extra player who will be a hell of a lot cheaper than what hardy will demand.  Then of course, we may find a way to keep him.

A little more offensive production would`t hurt ;-). Something has to be done and there are areas that have to bleed in favour for our needs. So my answer to your question is yes.

Bah what a typical evil German! ;-)

DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE!!! :D

    • Absolutely … watching from Colorado, man oh man it makes my heart warm knowing how much our Panthers are loved and supported back home these days. This season was a massive step in the right direction after everything since Tepper took over.   But say all you want about Tepper, but let’s be honest , he has turned a corner and has truly embraced the Panthers history and culture more so recently , and we saw it on full display in Charlotte Saturday. I’m truly so damn proud of our Panthers …. Time to buy that DB #95 jersey… love this team and our fans so damn much. Been a fan since Day 1 when I was a kid in Charlotte and to see how far we’ve come and to have faith in where we’re going in the future truly brings a smile to my face.   In a world currently full of despair and pessimism, thank you to the 2025 Carolina Panthers for giving us hope once again. Time to let Dan Morgan cook… KEEP POUNDING 🖤💙🖤💙🖤💙
    • It's been one hell of a ride this season. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed football for an entire season. There are still a lot of things that frustrate me about this team, but they somehow made it work and put together something pretty impressive. I'm still worried about us being stuck in mediocrity, but hell, that's a lot better than where we've been.    Also, hats off to the fans! What an impressive showing last night. That was the most wild it's been since the 2015 NFC Championship. The place was absolutely rocking! The fans showed up! This is one of the things that has been missing for so long. Despite the loss, I had a blast last night.
