Kaep Contract If He Win Today

This is a very serious discussion that Gettleman needs to have with Cam and the team. I'm as big of a Cam fan as anyone, but I'm hard pressed to see ANY QB worth 25% of the team's cap.

I know franchise QBs don't grow on trees. But neither do complete teams. And giving up that much money kills the opportunity of building a team.

What would you pay Andrew Luck next year?

There is nothing to spin. It was pure lunacy then, and it's still pure lunacy now.

Cam is our franchise player. Build around him, and let's win.

The fact that Gettleman had to reiterate that he finally proved it at the end of the season? Then there was a question.

But, you're too set to see it any other way than some magical Christmas land you live in. That's okay.

Gettleman didn't hold a press conference just to say "hey guys, Cam is our franchise QB". He was asked the question by a reporter, and even laughed because it was so ludicrous. There is no need to get defensive over this, you said it man, why not just admit you made a mistake?

No idea. I don't think anyone will know until we see this crop of QBs first start getting paid. And I guess that's going to start with Kaep. :/

Let's pretend Luck was up for a new contract this year along with Cam, Dalton, and Kap. What would you play Luck?

Not even young, QB's are getting paid period and majority of the contracts they've received has been bad decisions

I meant the new crop of QB's in general.

Obviously you could make an argument for Cutler, but the Flacco contract, while high, looked like a smart decision at the time. It's too early.

Similar to what stafford made, as someone else stated in this thread, on his extension. So, 5 years/76m?

The same id offer Cam.

These young QB's are going to big contracts, it's just going to happen. Market value is going up, not down.

They are also going to demand big contracts because of 2011. Colin has barely made 4 million dollars since entering into the league meanwhile Stafford has earned well over $100 million.

None of these QBs are taking "discounts" and we really can't blame them. Now is the time for them to make money and the Colts, Panthers, 49ers, Seahawks, Bengels, etc. should have taken advantage of their cheap labor in their rookie contracts.

The Panthers have no excuse (If I am Cam's agent) for not signing better talent around Cam when he came so cheap and making a SB run. Now that he can actually make Stafford money, I am going to go after all the pennies I can for Newton given he got stiffed on his rookie deal.

This summer and next should be interesting.

Well I have to disagree, although Flacco did get hot at the right moment, but so did Trent Dilfer. The defense and the few weapons played a big part. Once those parts left, you seen how Flacco performed this year with the team FULLY on his shoulders. You got Romo contract and Stafford contract too

    • As far as elite/elevate talent QB’s It’s Allen Mahomes Jackson and Burrow that’s it.  Then we have tiers and those can be debated all day Dak is a good QB but I know this board would want him out of Charlotte if he was the QB here. 2 playoff wins in 10 years. Justin Herbert no playoff wins. Threw 4 interceptions in last years playoff game. 23 TD passes last year. 20 the year below and 25 the year before that. This board loves stats without context and these stats aren’t saying they’re much above complimentary  Kyler Murray isn’t good. I’m not sure how he made this list.  Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence both benefiting from some real good offensive coaches right now. They’re both complimentary pieces until proven otherwise  I like Jordan Love. Always have. I wanted to draft him but he isn’t a superstar.  CJ Stroud hasn’t been much better than Bryce after his rookie season. After that Bears game year 2 his numbers very similar to Bryce I will say I think Drake Maye is well on his way to becoming the next top tier QB if I had to pick one from this entire list. I’d also say Baker Mayfield is a damn good QB and I’d take him over most of those guys not in the elite category  Now if you want to debate tools and which QB’s possess tools to put them in higher tiers that’s a completely different discussion. Most QB’s on your main list all have those physical tools that will keep you thinking he’ll become the next top tier QB. They’ll sprinkle in a “wow” play or two a game. Bryce will never look that way. Young’s game at its peak will physically always look different and I think that’s where most people struggle when it comes to seeing how Young’s can be successful in the league  All QB’s need a team around them. I think the Bills are failing Josh Allen much like the Panthers did Cam. Beane and McDermott using same blueprint with Bills team. Josh Allen hasn’t had much in terms of WR’s and it’s ultimately costing them when it matters the most
