Nick Hayden seemed to get better as the year progressed.

He never stepped on the field until Kemo was out week 16.

Kemo is the one guy we can't afford to lose, unless either Lonnie Harvey or Marlon Favorite turns out to be a solid run stuffer, which is far from a sure thing.

At this pint the best thing that can happen to the Panthers is a team that's deep at DT cuts a guy after the trim down and we snag the guy for the veteran minimum.

That was also the first NFL game he's ever played in. He did make some progress after that game. I'm not saying that he's gonna be a starter anytime soon, or that he will even make it through the final cuts, but you can't judge the guy off of that one game. He was probably so nervous he couldn't think straight that night anyway.
