Draft day shocker - prediction

Trying to project the drafts is almost like filling out a ncaa bracket. There's a lot of variables that can change from day to day.

 I would be excited if we drafted a CB  (Denard, Verrett, Fuller) or a Safety, Pryor would be AWESOME! Shocker would be Kony Ealy or Louis Nix, i would scratch my head.  Dee Ford wouldnt even shock me as we could technically rotate him in with Hardy and let Hardy walk next year, or cut Johnson.  A top tier RB in the second round would not even be a shocker, as we are going to need one next year after we cut Deangelo and Stewart.  Basically i wouldnt be shocked with any picks unless its another DT, QB, or LB in the first.

 

Less than ideal drafting a  cover 2 corner in the 1st. It really depends on our defensive scheme next year. Who knows?

If I had to make a shocking prediction, I would say that Manziel will fall, to a team like the Cowboys or Cardinals. Heck, Bridgewater didn't help himself at his pro-day either. If one of these QB's fall, someone else will fall with them. I originally had Aaron Donald going to the Cowboys, but if he doesn't, there's a whole lot of 34 teams that don't like his short arms. That leaves San Diego (who's converting to a hybrid 43) and Cincinnati (who drafts heavily for needs, and DT is not one of them) before pick 28. If the Chargers decide to go in another direction, we can see Donald at pick 28. Would he be BPA. Hell yes. We could draft yet another DT in the 1st 2 rounds.

i think he trades away  2nd round, and tried to  for later round picks.  Thats how the patriots did it and they had plenty of success.

I fully expect DG not to draft a WR till the 3rd. Doesn't mean I'm not going to be extremely pissed off when it happens.

Reading the quote from Jonathon Jones Q&A awhile ago, it really does read like he's against taking WR's high

Two pie chart tank-fests in five years is kinda frustrating, no matter how you spin it. At least draft day next year will be interesting.

Depends on our position... I think we have a good run at one of the 2 of 3 top Linebackers..

 

we have 2 beasts.. just imagine 3... plus Davis isnt going to be around forever. If we could scoop Barr or Mosely :o

If someone posted DG's last draft the day before the draft....no one would have believed it. No one would have believed DT, DT, G, LB, RB.

No one would have believed his first real offseason to date either.

Now, I am not saying his choices are wrong but I do think he continues keeping the fanbase off.

I think DG will draft a DE and maybe a another RB. DG seems to extremely focused on the cap and long term winning. DE is spot he will need leverage and options and you find your RBs in the draft.

I think first round is a T. With him adding a 3 rd roundish WR.

That isn't what I want but my guess on how things play out

 

I agree with DG likely taking a DE. If Scott Crichton is available for us in Round 2, you can likely mark him a Panther. Another guy I think we might like is Chris Smith out of Arkansas. He's a little short, but a good pass rusher.
