No certainty about Cam's timeframe... Could miss all of offseason including preseason or could be available for start of camp. Leans towards being ready for start of camp, but no certainty. The surgery was inevitable, had to happen sooner or later. Talks about how it will be good to see how he matures further through this injury.

Joe Webb brought in to "be Cam Newton" while he's out. See how he fits with the group on offense.

Hard for him to part with Smitty, was a big part of his first 3 seasons, references the Miami game 4th down conversion. Just part of business, age, production, salary cap issues, needing to get younger guys on the field.

Patience, have not finished off season plan, still have FA and draft, and young guys to develop. Lots of guys that "we really like." WR is a touchy spot, but remember we rushed for 100 yards or more in 15 of our 16 games last season. Don't be concerned about talks of a regression from last year, he is confident that the team will improve. Lots of time left in the offseason.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
