While I'd love to add him, it just doesn't make sense for where we are at in our re-build right now. The only teams who should be interested are those who have a very legitimate shot at winning the SB this season, as any team who makes the trade is going to be mortgaging their future to make the move. Teams who make these kinds of trades and then give them the massive contract, in the hopes that it will expedite their path to contention, ALWAYS ends up backfiring because they have to give up the 1st round picks that are then needed to help build out the rest of the roster after eating up such a significant chunk of the cap on the new contract. There is no way the Cowboys trade him for anything less than 2 future 1st rounders (and probably more), plus we'll have to make him the highest paid non QB in league history. Not to mention that it would then have made the Scourton and/or Princely picks a bit of a waste, as those 2nd and 3rd round picks would have been better off used on a ILB or DB

Like his approach to pre season that's ro get them out there and play together for a few plays and right about the night before and morning before. Maybe we can come out the gate on fire I can smell the smoke from here!! Go Panthers
-
Only 26 years old, fills the biggest hole on our roster. Top 3 at his respective position, yeah fug it how often does a future HOF player become available in their prime?
-
Which group, the Panthers or the Eagles? Both, perhaps? LOL
-
Yeah, Parsons was in the Horn draft. Would I trade Horn and a 3rd for Parsons? Hell, I'd carry Jaycee Horn from Charlotte to Dallas piggyback style for that deal. LOL The concern with Parsons' draft projection was whether he was an off the ball LB or an edge rusher or was he a tweener? I was leery projecting him as an edge but it obviously worked out.

Thanks for the new wallpaper.

Football is here! Chargers vs. Lions
kungfoodude replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, when people use him as justification for bad QB's, I facepalm pretty hard. Using an outlier to argue is just not intelligent. -
That was a stacked team inside and outside on that DL. DB is the only player on our roster with any hope of seeing PT in that group.
-
Got tickets for the Jacksonville game and also planning on going to opening night! #keeppounding

Panthers games will still be free in the local market, so it won't impact that. I will say that if the NFL is damned and determined to make it as difficult and expensive as possible to watch their product outside of local broadcasts, I am likely going to opt to pirate or abandon further attempts to follow ALL the NFL. It's not hard with a fantastic Hurricanes team and a finally Jordan free and seemingly logical Hornets franchise.
-
another reference, we went to a Superbowl and an NFCC in those 4 years. You gotta have that pass rush to go deep. I wouldn't want to trade DB for parsons though. You need both if your serious about giving the eagles a run for their money.
-
I would say the argument isn't that he won't be picked highly, necessarily. But will this be another manufactured "generational" prospect? I will say given the hype train that has been with Arch so far, it's very unlikely he will be able to live up to it.
-
See? Like I said, no matter what I say, you are just going to discredit it. I guess I will just dip since y'all are so stuck in this mindset. Fun while it lasted. Y'all have fun.
-
Parsons was not rated anywhere near Brown. Hindsight is easy.
-
Plenty of this is not from the podcast. I didn't even listen to the podcast. I told you, I have come up with all this on the fly since y'all act like this issue doesn't exist. Believe whatever you want to brother. You clearly have created this wild narrative about me.
-
Dude, are you referring to Bayless and Cowherd? Come on, all I'm asking you to be is reasonable.
-
You think all this over a podcast???? Brother, I am just gonna let you cook on this holy quest you are on. In the meantime, I will contine discussing this insanely hypothetical trade with others.
-
I never said anything about the value of the trade. I said I was out for other reasons. I would not trade for Parsons.
-
Might have linked the wrong one brother. I ain't taking this as serious as you think I am. Here's another one I linked if you didn't see it. My only point is, this didn't come from nowhere. If this many people are saying there is a problem, there might be a problem. https://www.totalprosports.com/nfl/jane-slater-bombshell-report-cowboys-concerns-with-micah-parsons/
-
Yeah, the character attacks are just purely hilarious. I just am not believing anyone here actually believes DB and a 3rd isn't an insane steal for Parsons as a hypothetical(and completely absurd) trade.
-
I have answered your questions. I essentially told you that what Holley said is a load of crap (and that his teammates, per Rappaport, and nearly every---really every---Cowboy fan that I know of, supports Parsons and wants him to continue to be a Cowboy). I told you that DB is a good teammate and player that is not as outspoken as Parsons. I also told you that DB is not nearly as impactful upon the game as Parsons, which, in my opinion, is much more important when you weigh things out. I told you that Holley is not an ex-teammate of Parsons, but also hinted that he's a dude trying to make a good living as he wasn't able to stick in the NFL. I respect the fact that you gravitate towards Brown, the "choir boy," if you will, but I disagree wholeheartedly with you trying to paint Parsons as some troublemaker and bad teammate. And, for me, Parsons' talent, body of work and career trajectory more than justifies Carolina trading DB and a third.
-
Did you even read that article you linked?? LOL

Parsons is unlikely to have a career as long as Peppers but if he maintains the same "level" of production and plays 12 seasons, it would result in a 124.68 sack career. I got this number by taking the percentage drop in Peppers year 5-12 drop from year 1-4 and extrapolating it out from Parsons sack rate. I also used the same game played percentage as a factor. That would be a top 30 career sack total and he would basically be 1-2 seasons of production away(which is very reasonable) from being top 10 all time.

crazy Rhule a literal PSU alum and lifer didn't take parsons. Useless bum of a HC.
