Nate Tice Nails the Limitations of the Offense
CPF4LIFE replied to Panthering's topic in Carolina Panthers
Do you remember the slobbing bryce got once he was benched last year? You had folks not even involved in the nfl commenting. Lebron james was public defending bryce and the local media were trying to lead a crusade agsinst canales. You will not hear anything from those same people while he is stinking it up again. -
Round 3 - The Carolina Panthers Select DJ Johnson - EDGE - Oregon

I do think he is skilled, he's just so under qualified physically its hard to tell. -
This is what really has hurt the team. From 2022 to date, the painfully bad way we went about dumping all our draft resources into the O vs the D. 1st and 2nd round resources all went to the O. 2022 1st on Icky *no 2nd 2023 1st on Bryce 2nd on Bryce 2nd on Mingo 2024 1st on Bryce 2nd and 5th on XL 2nd on a RB 2025 1st on TMac 2nd - Edge defender
-
Why would we want another small ,slow, weak armed QB?
-
Let's just bring back Jake. Then we could bring back smitty to play OL.

The panthers like guys with great ability and no skills. They also like guys with great skill and no ability. -
Shedeur aint no Jake The trade for a different QB would be a wreck on a wreck

I'm fine with taking late round flyers on athletes. I mean, you get into the 6th and 7th you're basically talking about guys with the measurables minus the production or guys with the production minus the measurables. You're just trying to find guys who can carve out a role to make your roster. -

Heard an interesting point on wfnz (shocking I know). It no longer makes sense for gms, coaches to draft players that need "coaching up" but have raw athletic ability. By the time they reach that potential if they ever do, you're already fired. If they haven't proven it in college already they're going to get you fired in 2 years. Stop drafting guys on potential and draft fuging football players. Wallace over Payton Wilson for just one example. You want Dawgs Dan but how about you start with healthy guys that know how to play the position you're drafting them to play. -
Bryce a bust? Maybe. But what if he's that edge case from 40 years ago?

Damn pregame production teams have got their marching orders on Bryce. -

It's too early to consider moving on from Canales, but replacing Bryce is long overdue. Bryce believers say that he thrives in improvising, but so far we've seen nothing but disaster when he improvises (interceptions, fumbles). I think that's why Canales is telling him to stop playing hero ball. With that out the window, he doesn't have the skills or abilities to compensate. I like their madden analogy. It perfectly explains Bryce. -
I like to reverse the comparisons. could Bryce young survive in the mid 80s nfl? not career wise, like physically.

It couldn't look worse. My concern is that if we stick with Bryce it probably means another full reset is coming. We gotta give Canales and Morgan a chance because we're going to be shopping in the garbage bin again if we replace them. Let's give them every chance we can before we go down to the convenience store and buy more scratch off lottery ticket ass hires. -

I keep saying it, but this offense would look like damn near Greatest Show on Turf if they handed the keys to Andy. -

The Panthers are just an afterthought at this point. Just a run of the mill bottom feeder. There's just nothing interesting to cover from a national standpoint. -

That's why I'm advocating for looking everywhere for potential upgrades. Free agency, trade market, draft. We have a bust of a starter and an over the hill pushing 40 backup. We need QBs. Multiple QBs. Leave no stone unturned. We got ourselves into this mess going all in on a savior. -

Kudos to him for recognizing what has been plainly obvious to anyone that has watched the Panthers offense. - Today
