Between his college career being in the middle of pandemic weirdness and injuries, I don't think anyone knows what his potential is at this point. Harbaugh wanted him and kept him as his #2 and he looked ok in preseason. Enough reasons to give him a shot IMO
-
The mechanical issues were no surprise. I used Tiger Woods’ struggles for an analogy and people just ignored it. If you recall he was setting the world on fire for years and got it in his head that his swing needed improving. Rebuilding. Because it wasn’t perfect, I guess. He was never really the same, probably age and injuries factored into the falloff by the time he got transitioned but he struggled for years to get there. Changing your ingrained mechanics to a second set of ingrained mechanics is a years long thing. It all looks good until the pressure gets ramped up and then you default to the familiar and comfortable. Until you get the new stuff just as familiar and comfortable. That is no overnight thing. Or as Tepper thought, fix it this week lol. Said that poo to Frank, allegedly. Lol. Bryce has the weirdest worst footwork I have ever seen.

Im torn. He seems worth a swing given the situation but can he stay healthy? They need to take more than 2 swings at that position this offseason. Draft one somewhere to develope, bring in a prove it guy like Lance and a Vet that can contribute for 1 to 2 years in a starting or backup roll that gets what the team is attempting.
-
Losing Wallace doesn't really make much of an impact. He is a very below average LB.
-
There is zero logical reason they would want Bryce Young and especially for Jones. Jones may net them as much as a 3rd rounder with that contract. They would be foolish to make such an insane trade.
-
Lance would be my choice over Jones personally. Jones is an upgrade because he can see the field but it does little to open up the playbook. Well not much.
-
Tyrod would be an upgrade. Not a major one but an upgrade.
-
Jets are so screwed they think they're getting a leg up by not announcing who is starting at QB lol. That being said Tyrod still might be an upgrade to our qb room.

We don't know 1) where we're going to end up picking in the draft, or 2) what QBs will even declare for the draft, let alone which ones will be worthy of considering in the 1st round. That being said, I feel like our best bet may be to pursue a veteran with some upside that could be at worst a productive stop-gap until we can draft our actual QB of the future and, at best, another Baker/Darnold/Daniel Jones late bloomer redemption story. So... Mac Jones, anyone? The 49ers have him under contract for 2026 and will almost certainly entertain offers for him after his performance this season. Also consider that while many here have soured on Bryce Young, there are almost certainly still executives in the league that would take a shot on developing him as a former 1st overall pick. If there is one team - and one coach/scheme - that could get the most out of Bryce Young it's probably Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers. I wonder if they would be interested in a swap of former Alabama star QBs with 1st round pedigrees? You could argue which team might have to throw in some additional compensation, but it could be a good deal for both teams. The Panthers would get a QB who would be an immediate upgrade with potential to be that next Baker/Darnold/Daniel Jones redemption story and the 49ers get a backup to Brock Purdy with a skillset that Kyle Shanahan might just be uniquely qualified to tap into it. Any takers?

I think it's going to be very funny how poorly that goes. I suspect you will see a lot of the Winston stans get pretty quiet after that game.

Since this does kick off tonight..... I know everyone is amped up to see the Jets vs. Pats.

He is completely dependent on maximizing his velocity via proper throwing mechanics. Being set and driving it with his lower body. Someone said something maybe it was here that they notice his throws have some zip when he is moving forward. Like out in space and gets the momentum. Without that momentum or being set and planting he loses velocity and with it timing accuracy and any advantage he could get from anticipation.
-
This is a guy that would be a good option to bring in as a 3rd stringer to potentially compete in camp. Throwing eggs in that basket to sign as a starter for 2026 should basically get a lot of people fired for the suggestion.

Extra deep balls, with a heaping side of INT's.

Canales is telling us, but we aren’t listening
kungfoodude replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
He has lost them because people already felt the need to blabber about this to the press. Lack of culture. -
Stuck behind Purdy and Prescot. Only had 2 or 3 starts. He has skills and maybe Canales could do something with him. Free agent in '26. I say get him on board with a "prove it" contract and see what he can do. The draft isn’t the answer next year to find a QB with his intangibles.

I thought his arm was just going to be run of the mill below average. It's worse. I think part of the reason it's worse is that anytime there's any traffic in front of him he has to lift the ball up and over that traffic. Having to throw with that arcing trajectory is going to impact the velocity you can drive. In a clean pocket with the ability to step up, I think his arm probably is run of the mill NFL below average. But then put him in typical NFL game scenarios and it plays out a lot worse. I honestly don't think there's a big difference between his and Mac Jones' arm of they're both just standing around throwing the ball around in drills. But that's not an NFL football game.

The cowboys traded a 4th for him and decided not to keep him
-
He got hurt in his second year I think the second game. Ankle. I think he was getting his shot in SF. Twisted a knee the year before. That is something that would be concerning to me. Durability.
-
I'm not confused. He sucks and needs to go. I don't give a fug what he does against Atlanta. Seen enough

Guys got the size and the arm strength. Was he buried behind the starting QB's and never really got on the field? Watching the Tube, actually looks decent. I read that he wanted to leave to get opportunity to start. Only 26 and could be someone to check out..... ???????
