Mike Kaye’s take: 2026 NFL free agency predictions
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
100%. It's about planning for the future, having flexibility and contingent players. Worst case scenario(provided the pick is sound) is that you have too many good OT's.- 37 replies

Yes but you are probably looking at Moton off the cap in 2027 and SHOULD be looking at Hunt off the cap, as well. The big monkey wrench will be QB and possibly LT, because even if we jettison Ikey, something has to be done at the position.- 37 replies

I am thinking at the moment be ready to draft OT two consecutive years. We could do one this year, see how he does and see how Icky responds. If we get lucky and Icky my responds well and can come back maybe we don’t have to have to replace him and Moton both. Adjust as needed.- 37 replies

I think Moton is likely gone in 2027, pending whatever happens at LT. We need to be planning for the future and draft a good LT/swing OT/RT. Give yourself flexibility or it will be another panic move and spending wildly to plug a critical hole.- 37 replies

Those two Giants SB wins over the Patriots are probably my favorite SB wins of all time lol. I got to watch the 2011 win live in NY at my apartment on antenna tv with 10 friends

LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we sign Linderbaum we'll probably have more cap tied up in the IOL than any team in history. We already have the #2 and #13 highest paid OGs and Linderbaum is probably getting top 5 center money. We had the highest paid OL in the NFL this year by a pretty wide margin (I think about $14M over #2). Add one of the highest paid centers in the league and we're really gonna be limited cap wise on the rest of the roster.- 37 replies

He is a below average starter but we have had far worse and not that long ago at the position. As I said, I am fine keeping him but he should be a reserve and we should be drafting his replacement.- 37 replies

Mark Jones; talk about a blast from the past. That dude got us yards every time. He also didn’t drop the ball. Been awhile since we had someone dependable back there like that
-
We haven't tried to get this type of player in forever. It's infuriating.
-
Everyone sort of faltered in that passing offense after the trade deadline because Darnold went to poo from Week 11 onward. I do think they intend to keep him.

Would fill two big needs, field stretching wr and certified punt/kick returner would love it

Everyone knows I'm not big on Bryce but I don't really fault Bryce here. No, it wasn't the greatest throw. But he threw a catchable ball to an open WR. You gotta throw to the guy that's open. Horn was put on the field by the coaching staff, he ran a route and got open, he was thrown a catchable ball and he failed to catch it. It is what it is. David Tyree had 4 catches for 35 yards in 2007 when he came down with this miracle in the SB...

Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft

That’s ‘funny’. Morgan has been very good trading down. It is the trading up that gets the pitchforks out. -
Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft

LB is not a huge need for the Lions, so that is odd. 100% against any trade ups. Hill I sometimes see in the 2nd, maybe he slides there too. Agree on the OL planning. Plan for the future, not the present. -
With the season on the line, you gotta go to the guy with 11 career receptions.
-
But yeah, given that particular situation he should've gone to the ground and absolutely prioritized securing the catch. Catch it and keep running maybe it's a big gainer. But simply go to the ground and ensure you secure the catch and we move the chains and stay in the game. I think a savvy vet is smart enough to forego the big play opportunity and simply ensure he moves the chains and keeps us in the game.

Hes slowing down here because the ball is poorly thrown. Hes got a safety over top in zone who was keyed in on him (look at the path the safety takes) and a defender playing trail. If this ball is in front of him he basically has to wall glitch 90 degrees in a very small space and break two tackles. This from the only guy on the team smaller than bryce. we’ll never know because bryce threw a duck at his back heel. Just catching that and getting down and calling a timeout is a good play there. We don’t need to fantasize hero poo. better question is why they’re throwing to Jimmy horn in this situation at all but that’s an uncomfortable one to ponder for “team mediocrity is supreme” on this board.
-
In stride? Jimmy Horn has wheels, he second guesses himself sometimes so maybe not this time but he probably had like one safety to beat if he caught that on the move
-
Certainly higher profile but if think their recent track record of hires indicates they’re not well thought of us among the coaches. They’re also kinda weird about “culture hires” which is how you end up with guys like Joe Judge. Falcons firing (promoting?) rich McKay again is a good move, and they have basically unlimited resources in Atlanta. Plus you get to play in the nfc south. He also just might take a year off
-
That's why I was pissed they didn't have David Moore active, he's not a burner but he makes those catches. And he knows what it's like to be on a playoff caliber team
-
Probably a TD? Hm
-
I think he will go to NYG if he goes anywhere.
