  1. Past hour
  2. You might let someone else pay you to take him and level your value out with the proceeds. Which is what I would want to do if a WR that is clearly the best player at 19, is there.
  3. Well all we are doing here is pissing to mark territory because non of us have a bit of power over what they will do. At the same time a lot people out think the professionals. I have a way I want it to go. Probably won’t, usually doesn’t. But will say again, we have a crisis brewing on OL.
  4. Yeah, but being "even" is a different argument. Of course you're going to take the player that you need more if all things are equal. That's a no-brainer.
  5. I just don't see that as being in the realm of reality, but in theory if the tackle is the BPA, then sure. Like I just said in another thread, sometimes it's not a matter of being right or wrong, but just putting the puzzle pieces together to make it work. All this sh¡t is guess work, it's just that the professionals have more educated guess work.
  6. Well certain guys are clearly a notch better than other guys. But only very occasionally will they present themselves to you all wrapped up with a bow when your clock starts. I am a win at the LOS fan over skill positions and if a LT or an A’Shawn replacement stood at least even with other players I would be a buyer. I think there was a good argument for T Mac in that regard last year, and had no issue and would accept it again this year but it needs to be really clear. I don’t expect it to be. But if it is, there should be trade interest and that’s what I am about this year re our situation. I would love to trade back and fit the value to an OT while getting ammo to move up and get one of these LBs in the 2nd. Need based? Yep. Trying to build a team not a room.
  7. Nah we need to draft someone, those aren't much better or the same tier as Bryce outside of Stafford, but he would retire before playing somewhere else. But with the guys these fools have been visiting with that might not be much better.
  8. I don't know, nor did I say that. I said you don't reach down over a higher graded player to grab a lower graded player; it doesn't matter the position. It doesn't matter what any of us think when we're on the clock. The professionals are the ones getting paid to scout and pick. If we're all being honest, we think they're are better options available all the time. Hell, plenty of people thought there were better players than T-mac last year. I mean, sometimes it's still a debate over players' careers. I mean, sure the busts are obviously wrong, but sometimes there is no right and wrong, it's just a matter of putting puzzle pieces together and making it work.
  9. I looked at 2027 FA QBs with that in mind just this morning. It isn’t pretty. Starters are Watson, Geno, Stafford and another guy so meh I forgot who it was. Justin Fields, mildly interesting if he learns anything from Andy Reid. Davis Mills isn’t bad. Then I got to guys like Levis who I think is interesting but not someone you bring in as your guy.
  10. BPA is a myth strategy. You simply have to account for positional value and current roster status. BPA is like taking a generic ESPN fantasy football ranking and simply crossing off the list as you go down
  11. So if a tackle that likely won’t start in 2026 is BPA, you are good?
  12. On the plus side if we ever get a real QB our offense could be explosive.
  13. some of ya'll are really heavily invested in making sure that Bryce looks like a top 20 qb
  14. How do you know a wr will be graded higher? You just assume a wr is the highest graded player that will be available. Thats simply not true. If they take a wr so be it. But I do not agree that there isn't better options that will be available.
  15. I agree wholeheartedly. Now if this guy has the skillset and the mindset to be a Center... then having a road grader type guy there is definitely something we can work with.
  16. What I am saying is that receivers will be on our big board, regardless. Big boards are obviously going to include players at positions of need, but it would be tantamount to sacrilege to reach down over a higher graded player to grab a lower graded player simply because you perceive that the lower graded player is a bigger need.
  17. I mean, it's possible, but does Canales (and Dan and Brandt) really feel like investing a first in a guy that will likely ride the bench this season? I don't see him, or any of them really, taking any starter's job on the O-line.
  18. Aren't you suggesting drafting for need? You said we need a wr and seem to be suggesting that it is a priority. Just saying.
  19. You draft the BPA, the highest graded person on your board, period! It doesn't matter what the position is. It doesn't matter if it's three times in a row, particularly when you need a WR--particularly when one of them hasn't worked out. What you and others are suggesting from one perspective is to draft for need--exclude an entire position just because it's the first round, even though that position should rightly be in play just like all the other positions that could provide a valuable upgrade to your team, just because you drafted them in the first round for two seasons in a row. I hate to be blunt and it may appear disrespectful (but it's really not) but in my opinion that's just nonsensical. You draft the BPA/BAP regardless of any arbitrary notions because that's what leads to success, and that you used free agency to set yourself up so that you could do that very thing. That's just the way that I see it https://www.carolinahuddle.com/topic/480550-look-at-the-wrs-in-recent-drafts-around-19/?do=findComment&comment=7062085
  20. My perfect draft would be the Panthers walking away from the draft with both Fano and Rodriguez. But they will get neither I'm afraid.

  23. Strange things happen in the draft just want them to hit on their guy...I don't follow college football so I just go off you guys' opinions and write ups etc
  24. Hard to tell, how this will go …not who I would like either we all know OT is a premium position Not sure any will be there at 19 or what is there, it worth it we also know we have line injuries and lack of depth at Guard and LT and an older RT player who has started to miss time at the Tackle position. We also have a top, paid guard coming off injuries and a contract that is huge …oh yeah, we have a little fella at qb
  25. I think if we really want one they will have to take one at 19 because all off those guys will be off the board by pick 51.
