The Jags will Jags, but I hope they just pencil him in at one position for his sake. A big play WR is more valuable than a solid CB in the NFL unless he’s Sherman/Revis level.

Tommy Tremble (back) rehabbing on the sidelines Nic Scourton (?) is sidelined Kay Adams is in the building Not many videos today, shooting period ended ~20min ago

Lance never made a lick of sense in the first round. He has a very awkward throwing motion.

Have the Jags given any hints yet on what their plans are? I'm in the same boat as you thinking he'd be better off as a CB with a package of plays on offense, but looking at their personnel in both groups... the poor bastard could end up having to pull double duty after all. WR: BTJ, Dyami, Parker Washington, Joshua Cephus, Austin Trammell CB: Jarrian Jones, Tyson Campbell, Jourdan Lewis, Christian Braswell With the Jags recently losing Montaric Brown to... I think it was an Achilles injury... I could see Hunter getting more looks but talent-wise he might provide a better boost to the WR room. Watch JAX make him play WR this season, CB next season, both in year 3, and then trade him in year 4 after he's sacrificed his legs. I genuinely hope it doesn't go that way... Travis seems like such a good kid.

This kid sure has gone off the deep end over nobody liking his trade idea.

Padded practice underway! Got about an hour to catch up on. Quick summary of what's posted so far: Renfrow (hamstring) working with a trainer before practice, likely on the sidelines today Mike Jackson (toe) back in pads today after missing the last two practices Panthers started streaming a portion of practice @ 10:15am (will drop the link for that later when I find it) Pat Jones (illness) back at practice

In a sense it's good. You want your QB to be able to find and hit the open man. Tom Brady had a hall of fame career doing exactly that. But at the same time you really want to know they can make the more difficult throws as well. I remember watching Lance's tape and being blown away by the talent and arm strength. And then just noticing, "boy, that's like the third or fourth clip in a row where they've said, 'wide open!' That's a little odd." Then I couldn't stop noticing. Not to re-litigate this, but watching Stroud, some of those throws I just wouldn't think are even humanly possible.

That was one of the concerns I had with Bryce's tape completely independent of the concerns about his physical tools. Watching a lot of his play those dudes were absolutely WIDE ASS OPEN. -
Trey Lance was the reason I came up with the completely unscientific "Trey Lance Test." When watching a QB's college highlight reel, what percentage of the highlights are accompanied by the play-by-play announcer saying, "Wide Open!" With Lance, I think it was like 60%.

Really good, but that's a pretty bold use of a trademarked name. I hope we don't incur the wrath of the house of mouse.

I think a D1-AA program producing two highly drafted QBs within the last 15 years or so is pretty incredible. That's it, that's all. No one is trying to say any college team would beat any NFL team. Dafuq you talking about? LOL -
He had plenty of tools but was a big project in a really hard time to evaluate talent with the crap covid did to that season. Him going in a really weak class, maybe historically bad QB class, pushed him way too high. That's the kind of backup I would love to draft later behind a solid established starter. Yall put way too much into schools. They are all just practice squads at best. Even Alabama at their height couldn't pull a win from any NFL squad.

He was one I didn't get the hype on at all. I remember watching that nationally televised game he had right before they shut their season down and was baffled. Like, this is just TEMU The Golden Calf of Bristol. I think a lot of the hype is because Carson Wentz had just come out of NDSU a few years prior which let's be real, for a program like North Dakota State to produce those two QBs is still pretty incredible. -
I hope the young guy lives up to the hype and billing. If not this place will be insufferable.

Neither AT or Coker IMO are really ideally what a team wants in the slot. I like Coker as a backup to TMac or XL. No point trading Coker. He doesn’t have real trade value and it wouldn’t be getting rid of a solid developmental guy that good by a really nice role player for us

Arch probably doesn't even come out this year. The Saints will be bad, they'll end up with Nussmeier and unite him with his dad. Love to see Penix struggling (in one tweet at least). After ATL traded next year's first, would be beautiful if Penix is bad.
