  1. Past hour
  2. It's a helluva lot easier to put someone on the ground when you're grabbing their facemask and using it as leverage to put them in an awkward position. The DB was lucky that they both had helmets on. Real talk.
  3. Preseason doesn't matter, so best time for Etienne to get some live reps and see how it goes. Same can be said for Jimmy, but who knows what their plans are right now.
  4. I don't think Horn is guaranteed. I don't think Moore is guaranteed either. I don't think that we'll keep either one of them if by chance someone is cut that would be an upgrade to either. I'm not downplaying Moore though. An experienced vet that can legitimately fill in when injury bug bites is not to be taken for granted.
  5. Right lets add anther 5'9 180 pound soaking wet C thats totally gonna get us past Florida.....
  6. I think Canales needs to pull Raheem Blackshear off of returns for these last two preseason games. That's really the best way to gauge whether or not one of these borderline guys can contribute in other ways. It is not looking like Blackshear is going to make the 53, so those are wasted reps imo. Split time between Horn and Renfrow and see what we have. Also, Canales loves David Moore, so dismissing him is a mistake on fans' part. He plays special teams well and can be depended on, if needed, to make plays on offense. That's valuable for a 4th-5th receiver. I don't think he is a 100% lock, but there is something to be said for the trust Dave has in him.

  8. XL may have taken boxing lessons and did throw a quick combination of punches but he also was put on the ground by the DB. Maybe his boxing trainers were of the gambling variety and spent extra time teaching him how to take a dive.
  9. I understand your point. If everyone is healthy, I think Horn is inactive, at least to start the season. My money is on Renfrow being WR5 and PR1 to start the season. I think Horn will have to wait until an injury to get legit playing time
  10. we don't really know much about Davein this regards though... but just to argue the other side. Week 1...how do you justify his existence if you are a coach? That's the Horn problem. And it might uniquely apply to him amongst the WRs.
  11. To be clear, I dont see any scenario where we dont keep Jimmy Horn. And Im not knocking David Moores value to this team. I just think from a roster management perspective, keeping a younger guy over David Moore on the initial 53 if we keep 7 WRs (or someone else at a different position) makes much more sense
  12. 99% of the time I actually go both our Horn's Joe Horn. So I only type Horn.
  13. that is a very generous assessment of David Tepper
  14. Yeah, he's made some plays. The thing is though, he's really just a possession receiver. Horn, theoretically, provides speed and explosiveness. He's just so small though, and he really provides zilch as far as blocking down field (unlike Tremayne). It will be interesting to see what happens there.
  15. Today
  16. I dont see any scenario where we couldn't release David Moore and sign him back since he not subject to waivers. Why we should keep him on the initial 53 roster is beyond me. Keeping him on the initial 53 when we can protect other players seems pointless. If we are going to keep 7 WRs, I hope we keep Brycen Tremayne. And then maybe cut him after initial claims and sneak him onto PS. He's a big possession type receiver who just keeps making plays.
  17. Tepper made two awful decisions in Rhule and Reich.
  18. No surprise. I doubt that he was ever behind Horn.
  19. We about to learn something about Dave IMO. And what he values. And how much weight being a Dave guy carries. Just guess work right now.
  20. Moore is not an irreplaceable piece. If Jimmy is performing well enough where it's a question between the two of them you go with youth.
  21. Sorry I'm used to identifying any mention of the name Horn with automatic caution. Jimmy could be an improvement. Honestly have no idea why they put green Etienne out there returning a punt before him.
  22. Yeah we are on the same page. I'd rather keep Horn for the potential, but Moore knows the system and is another vet who is decent at special teams as well. I'd prefer Horn and just stashing Moore on PS until someone gets hurt.
  23. I surely ain't giving up on X. It's still too early for that. See me after the season, and then we can have a discussion.
  24. but they too most likely would be viewing him as a developmental project IMO. Maybe 2nd half of the season you could work him in
  25. that's a main reason I call him a project. Dude wasn't run blocking in college. And even his routes were run out of looks he primarily isn't going to see here.
