Brown on yesterday's calls...
-
He’s probably referring to Liam cohen.

Canales is limited like much of this build. Good news is that the NFL has built in parady so that gives every team an easy pass to hover around .500 when they are not openly shooting themselves in the feet.
-
Canales has improved over time, but he's still learning. That he's actually capable of learning puts him a cut above a fair number of unsuccessful coaches.
-
Lol, you got it twisted. Yes Bryce had options, but he didn't see Rico, held the ball too long and because he didn't step up when he had a chance before the pocket collapsed all led to the sack. The OP is blaming Ickey for the loss and what I'm saying is that the OL gave up 1 sack (this play)all game and by the time Chase Young got there the other side of the line had collapsed too.

@45catfan the bryce stan is trying to say the double team on the other side "failed" and he was surrounded lmfao yea he was becaus he didnt step up in the completly clean pocket..... this is pass blocking 101 if the qb is 9 yards behind the LOS when hes sacked with zero interior push its on the qb because if he steps up both DEs get washed out and he has a full four seconds to throw....

the ransom hit is getting called 1000 out of 1000 times
-
For sure. and the announcers were talking constantly about what they were going to do with that snap of the ball, etc etc. That's one of the only plays you can run and have everybody close enough to the line of scrimmage to clock it quickly. Like I said, hats off to them. The saints are a well coached bunch.

I know the sneak can be more effective with a big quarterback, but that doesn't mean it's totally ineffective with a small one. That play for me has always been about the guards and centers getting a good push. We should be able to run it with a small quarterback.

NFL coaches do indeed sometimes call and / or design plays with an eye toward drawing a penalty. You can go back as far as old clips of Marv Levy coaching the Chiefs to see evidence of that. I have pretty much zero doubt that Shough's final run falls into that category.
-
Me too but it's not going to happen
-
Your high.... the "double team" didnt fail on the other side if he steps up in the pocket when hes supposed too 2 seconds before you still the double team washes them out and so does ickey.... but no he dropped BACK three YARDS BEHIND BOTH TACKLES. Probably didnt step up because his midget ass cant see over the line if he does.

The bucs struggles have definitely helped us. The only reason we are in the playoff conversation is because of how bad they've been. Wanting Canales out is an interesting opinion. Hard to look at this and think he hasn't done a good job. I do think he needs a really good offensive assistant he trusts. Someone that either specializes in managing games, or calling plays. I do think he has too much on his plate at times. He struggles sometimes with balancing both roles. I think Evero has done a great job. Everybody is going to complain, but we've done a poor job of roster building on that side of the ball. We have no pass rush, and no inside linebackers. That's a heck of a combo.

Sneak in and then get thrown out
-
Not even talking about Bryce. His in game recognition and adjustments are staggeringly slow. He's not seeing the whole picture because he's focused too much on calling plays. He needs to concentrate on being a HC. He's not good enough to do both.
