More from Person's latest Athletic story
kungfoodude replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Hendrickson and Phillips would likely want top 5 pass rusher contracts to come here, if I am being honest. -
Wrong. Mike Remmers did indeed help us to our best season ever (including having some very good performances) but he also still needed to be replaced based especially on how the season ended. Those two statements are not mutually exclusive. They could be equally applied to other players, and this happens on an annual basis all over the league.. As far as Bryce, based on everything I'm reading what "I want" has become largely inconsequential. All indications are that what I wrote that I expected after the Rams game (i.e. Bryce will get his fifth year option) is pretty much happening. Joe Person called it "an easy decision" at this point. The future beyond that is, as the song goes, still unwritten. But the near future looks to be fairly settled.

He did have himself a day. But was that him or our bi-weekly pant shitting appointment?
-
Yeah, if he was able to be healthy eventually, yes. Possible that we end up signing him at some point during the season when he finally gets healthy again. I don't know if you are aware but he did rupture his Achilles tendon in late Oct. It is unlikely he will be healthy for the entire 2026 offseason and very likely that he misses some or all of the 2026 season.

He may, but it won't be for much. I could see a desperate team like Vegas possibly, maybe Cincy. Swing tackles are valuable and their cupboards are bare, especially LV. That's gotta be the worst oline I can remember. It all depends on how he recovers from that Achilles. His lateral movement will tell the tale.

I don't think we'd absolutely have to, but I'd support it if we did.

Dane Brugler’s panthers mock pick
Mr. Scot replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
As a starter, probably. I'd keep him as a backup, though. -
First things, first.....you would have to rid the org of Jim Caldwell and Dom Capers for your scenario to play out. Which I support. but I still say, Jim Caldwell is a problem and a problem with influence. Meaning, he is likely hard to get rid of. we need clean breaks, which we never do. Always the old messes bleeding into the new mess (likely helping create the new mess)

It's not really different than normal, TBH. They aren't terrible for longer term looks but individual game poo has a WILD amount of variance. It's a subjective grading system, so there is a lot of variance naturally.

It's a bantering message board. I could do a performative dance that conveys what my eyes see if you want. you are fixated on this Mike Remmers "helped" us go 15-1 and have one of the best seasons ever so don't say he stinks and needs to be replaced angle. Bryce has been a key reason in why we lose games more so than being a key reason in why we win them. If you want him to be warm body this year that might make a play here or there? Cool. Us staying on the Bryce train makes us irrelevant in the big picture.

He needs in game help as well. I think he now sees he's got to change their offseason routine. What he's done hasn't worked for 2 seasons now. There's no excuse for a 3rd.

We can do better than Cade -
Carroll wouldn't necessarily be an "in game" presence (not in my scenario anyway) just someone to offer a little guidance on certain things like offseason prep.
