  2. MLFootball is a sh-tty source. That said, it sounds like they're paraphrasing some comments Newton made when he was doing the "Special Forces" competition last year. I remember those seeing him make statements to that effect. So...technically correct, but reporting is still refried zebra sh-t.
  3. Even if Cam was making NFL money like he did….he would feel drastically poorer with 8 kids and 3 baby mommas in that pocket
  4. Congrats my friend, you were able to word patient and Tepper in the same sentence!!! Truly impressive and Id ever thought it was possible, bravo!!
  5. What about 33rd overall or 65th overall... Great now just got a Edward PTSD flash back..... Until the team is fixed- all future picks should be view as the first one in each round, not joking... They, for the first time in gods knows, finally have all their original picks. A miracle in itself!!
  6. I think they might be scarred after the BY trade if that move fails. Or even more so if Caleb Williams pans out. One hopes it will teach them to be patient but that isn't in Tepper's future.
  7. I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games. There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior..... The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....
  8. It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.
  9. That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck. Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own. Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
  10. Logically speaking, every trade is different. Speaking from experience, I'm extremely gun shy about trading away future first rounders
  11. Allen as a quarterback is to me right now is what Andy Reid used to be as a coach. For the longest time, Reid would look like a world beater in the regular season only to flame out in the playoffs. That's Allen right now (Jackson too). Reid got over the hump. Allen and Jackson might also... ...but neither has just yet.
  12. Allen is the success everyone shoots for. Richardson is the more common result. Mind you, if Bryce reaches the kind of success we're hoping for, he'll be an outlier as well.
  13. wut? I'm not sure he should've won the MVP last year but I don't think you'll find anyone that tries to argue that he's not currently a top 5 NFL QB. Seems to me that Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Lamar, and Allen are clearly the top 5 guys with Mahomes clearly being #1 and then the arguing can start from there. LOL
  14. Newton made it to the Super Bowl, and commandingly so. MVP doesn't prove anything to me until he at least makes it to the Super Bowl.
  15. Agreed. Minnesota was a very good situation for him. Going into a significantly lesser offensive situation won't be a surprise to see the same old Darnold return.
  16. Scot, he just rightfully won the MVP. He had a better cam 2015 season. (those WRs, lols) He's proven. If not for the chiefs dynasty, Allen would have a couple SB MVP on top of the clear MVP. High odds, imo.
  17. If the panthers come to a fork in the road you can bet your ass they make the wrong decision
  18. Josh Allen hasnt proved it yet? Thats a hot take
  19. Its all done and in the past, 20 20 etc. Just if tepper hired a competent NFL coach or offense staff, they would have picked either Darnold or Mayfield. *then no reason to trade a kings ransom for a rookie QB that isn't burrow, luck, elway, or manning. Then use the 9th pick on Carter and next years 1st overall for trade back haul aka similar to Panthers. Now you have two or three 1st rounders and two-three second rounders all within the top 40. That would should have been the goal.
  20. Hell, even Allen himself hasn't proven he's got it all just yet. Bottom line though, shooting for the next Josh Allen / Cam Newton all too frequently nets you the next Anthony Richardson / Trey Lance.
  21. The whole "draft a QB savant with no NFL measurables" argument is also on the rocks at the moment. You need a little bit of this, little bit of that to make it work. Meanwhile, last year's MVP was a "draft an athlete and teach him how to be a QB" guy.
  22. The whole "take the phenomenal athlete and teach him to be a quarterback" model is just something I've never believed in. They have to have the quarterback skills first. If they're also a great athlete, that's gravy. But The idea that you can turn a lousy passer / processor into a pro quarterback is just fallacy.
