I don't see how a guy that lobbied for the job that his BFF just got sh!t-canned from is going to fix the toxic "hunger games" culture in the organization.

Fox and Rivera were .500 coaches that could never put together back to back winning seasons. Wilks was worse than both. Yes, I’m aware .500 is better than what we’ve been lately, but if that’s your bar, don’t be surprised if NFL owners/coaches/athletes are expected to strive for better than that. I swear, Wilks fans are worse than Bryce defenders. Yes, I know, we get to lose a super bowl every decade with the 1986 model. Hurray

The real question is, is the team going to transition into an offense that’s this side of 1988 and is the owner is patient enough to let someone competent build it.

Their longing for a .500 record is better than the Bryce fans beating the drum for a 2-15 QB. Is hiring a coach before hiring a permanent GM a new thing or is that just something Tepper keeps trying? It seems like letting a GM hire a coach has never been discussed as an option in the Tepper era.

Not if he's going behind the coach's back and undermining him. He'd probably do the same to the new GM. Scott needs to go.

This guy's take isn't that great. Any coach that comes to Carolina, is risking getting Reich'ed. If you're going to risk getting your reputation ruined, you need guaranteed retirement money.

Supposedly, when Tepper wanted Ron to switch to 3-4, Ron went along with it because 3-4 OLB edge rushers were easier to find than traditional 4-3 bookend DEs. Hence the drafting of Burns. Who knows how much of that is true. I was hoping to see Burns thrive this year. At this point it would probably be another step back if we switched back.

After 2 decades of Fox/Rivera ball, I'd rather rip the band aid off and at least get an offense that resembles something from this century. If that means moving on from O lineman that can't pass protect, so be it.

Yay. Let's go back to Fox/Rivera/Wilks ball and go .500. Back to back winning seasons isn't all it's cracked up to be. We might make the playoffs every third year or so if our division sucks enough. Hell, we might even make a deep play off run once every decade if our GM stumbles into a couple of world beating talents. It's the Panther way. I'll give the people pining for Wilks this; .500 is an improvement over the current situation. I want us to be better than that, though. (For the record, Reich's record in Indy was .547 for those of you in awe of Wilk's .500 tenure. Also, if you want to count Reich's record here, you also must count Wilk's record in Arizona.)

Our coaching staff he 100 years of experience and Bryce has the “it” factor. I don’t care what the record says. This is a winning season.

Imagine working for a guy like Jim Irsay, getting a fresh start at a new job and finding out your new boss is worse than the last. I think he cared but got exasperated and was too old and tired to do anything about it.

The roster is the biggest problem. That's on Fitt. Why Fitt hired a coach whose scheme didn't fit our personnel is baffling.
