  1. Sam will finish up here and move on to being a backup QB somewhere else. He just doesn't understand offense and defense at the NFL level. If we downloaded a working brain into his empty head his passing still isn't that good. Rock bottom football IQ + mediocre passing by NFL standards = 18 million down the drain this season.
  2. I had another look at Cross and I don't like him as much as Neal. Cross looks undersized out there, and in the NFL everything is bigger. Big DEs are going to give Cross trouble imo. Also I see him holding sometimes because he got lazy. I prefer a bigger LT than Cross. We need to rough people up with McAdoo here, and I don't see him wanting Cross.
  3. I decided to go back and look at Evan again and I just love this guy. His hands are super quick and precise for such a Bigfoot sized human. What a monster, but quick with those hands, quick into his stance, shoots those hands out at just the right time, and has so much power. Great kick step and balance. A dancing bear with his footwork and his super fast hands. He has the same problem popping up each time I watch him. He is a little vulnerable to a bull rush from big DE. He counters that with great technique, but even then he's going to get pushed back sometimes near the QB. His great technique prevents sacks, but the QB will be hurried/pressured sometimes. He doesn't anchor as well against a big bull rushing DE, so he needs a pro weight room lifting regiment. Get that core stronger.
  4. Imo Neal will be gone before we pick. There is no reason he should be there at 6. That's crazy unless QBs start to go. The mock drafts may have Neal falling to 6, but remember that you have to keep changing your mock draft to keep people coming back to read it. Everyone gets moved up and down, and sometimes it's just to keep things interesting.
  5. Oh Goodness Evan Neal is better than Cross. Evan Neal is so good that if he falls to 6th my heart will be racing. What is so good about Neal? He is 6'7" 350 pounds and has terrific technique and all the skills tackles take a long time to master. This guy is the baddest mf I have seen in a while. At 6'7" he run blocks well because he isn't lazy. He goes down low and gets under shorter opponents and drives them back. That is exhausting and he does it anyway, and blows people up with great technique. At 6'7 350 you'd think he'd be naturally great against a bull rush from tall DE's, but he isn't. He uses technique to defeat bull rushes from bigger DE's, so he uses his hands/arms to chop their arms at the elbows so their arms bend inward into their own bodies, and that is how Neal stops them. Technique while he keeps his balance and gives some ground without backing into the QB. Neal is really smart, and he keeps his eyes active on what is happening around him while he's already engaged with someone else. He never looks away or gets lost when a stunt is coming, he knows what might be coming and he watches LB or whomever. Neal breaks off his double team and gets to the second level like a pro. He times it just right, and he tracks down the quick LB like a heat seeking missile and blows him up. I have, on several occasions, seen Neal punch a defender and send them flying backwards. I am not exaggerating. In general he is a damn load to try and deal with for an entire game, and he's smart as hell. I see Neal as a future Pro Bowl LT.
  6. I'm not expecting Evan Neal to be there at 6, but anything could happen. I think Cross is more realistic.
  7. We can go o-line in this draft, and QB in 2023. No more trading away the future for mediocre QBs in the present. That's how we got to the bottom of the NFL, so I think we're learning not to do that. Our GM is not bright, (see Sam Darnold) but even he can figure out what isn't working. Sadly for us the damage is done, but we can slowly recover with the right decisions.
  8. "They payed me a pile of money this high to find a QB, and I found Sam Darnold. I'm unfireable."
  9. Good if that's true. It shows we're no longer willing to throw away high picks on washed up QBs who were never that good to start with. We're learning not to do that anymore. Progress.
  10. Mahomes needs to take a Brady style pay cut.
  11. It will be Sam Darnold. We are spending 18 million dollars on him, so it doesn't make much sense to spend even more on another washed up veteran. 18 million and another huge some on top of that for QBs would be a bad idea.
  12. Yes let Zombie Cam start in 2022, and draft a QB in 2023. Totally fine with that.
  13. We already did enough damage trading for Sam and picking up his 5th year option. If Rhule does something like that again with Baker then it's going to be soul crushing.
  14. Yeah that's fine. So long as our 2023 1st round pick stays in our possession. If for ANY reason we lose our 1st round pick in 2023 then I am leaving until Rhule is fired.
  15. There were zero landing spots for Sam. Zero except us. We traded a 2nd and 4th. Baker is thought of as being better than Sam by some, and Rhule is known for being ignorant about QB play.
  16. Ok Rhule the ball is in your court. You trade our 1st round pick in 2023 for Baker and I'm not following this team anymore until you are FIRED.
  17. Let's just roll with Sam and keep our first round picks. Please don't give away our first round picks for QBs who are not going to pan out. We already have a mediocre QB in Sam. PLEASE don't trade our 1st round pick for Baker.
  18. Baker doesn't have enough control over his passes. Too many of them are scattershot for him to be considered a good QB. I'd actually rather have another season to see if Darnold can improve than lost a 1st round pick for Barker who I 100% predict will be bad. If we give up our 1st in 2023 then I can't watch this team anymore until Rhule is fired.
  19. If they trade our 1st round pick in 2023 for Baker then I am leaving the forum until Rhule is fired. If they trade our 2022 1st round pick then I'll be mad, but I'll stick around.
  20. I know people are disagreeing about me not liking Pickett for not making his reads. What Pickett will do is not even see an open receiver, and then scramble and make a great throw to a receiver who wasn't the main target. In college that is wonderful. In the pros that is a very different situation.
