  1. I don't remember the last time I had confidence in a Panthers team, but it was probably early in the 2018 season. I never wanted Sam Darnold. I didn't want Mayfield. During those years I repeatedly posted that we would get our QB in the 2023 draft. It's done. All this waiting and finally we get our first real glimpse in our future. Is Bryce really some sort of football savant, or is that just Panthers puffing propaganda? Here we go.
  2. "On Adam Thielen's way out of Minnesota, questions persisted about whether he could still separate. The Panthers have been pleased with his top-end speed, tracking him at 20-plus miles per hour on the GPS device." Ian Thomas has also been clocked running 20-mph running on the GPS as well, but that was a couple of years ago.
  3. Fitt had to make a choice in the draft in the second round, OLB or WR. We went WR, so now we're bringing in another OLB. So DJ, YGM, and Houston can compete.
  4. If I had the time and access to the footage I would start doing illustrations of Ian Thomas' poor run blocking that drove me insane on gameday. I don't have the time to go dig up Ian's poop run blocking, but this wasn't as isolated event. He drove me crazy in gameday threads.
  5. He screwed up many so many of our run plays by getting blown up and pushed way backwards that it might have traumatized me.
  6. For his size he's very fast and the Panthers staff clocks him with some kind of speed radar gun. He had a couple of bad drops last season, but when you're not targeted much a drop or two can make you look worse than you are. His run blocking gives me aids.
  7. Does anyone else here feel like they could get around Cam Irving for a sack?
  8. The rich can throw heaps of money at their problems and that usually works. Even if it's something more serious like double murder.
  9. The actual video footage of the fight might the lowest quality footage I've ever seen at least in the last 30 years.
  10. We're always going to have a "chick little" section on the huddle that press the panic button way too early. I can't say it's surprising considering the horrors we're been through since Cam's shoulder injury. How many Sunday's have the Panthers ruined with mismanagement? Some people are a little jumpy.
  11. Without knowing the full context I can't really assign blame to anyone. However, the way it looked he threw the ball directly to Luvu, and there was no one near Luvu. Luvu was covering no one, and my impression, which could be wrong, was that Young thought Luvu was a check down target, and he threw it right at him.
  12. The Young interception I think yesterday was really bizarre. He threw it right at Luvu, but there was no offensive player in the area. It was almost like he mistook Luvu for a receiver. Any INTs that a due to being a little off target are fine right now imo. He needs to develop more chemistry with these receivers. But the Luvu pick worried me a bit.
  13. There is no way to tell until he starts putting up numbers for us. Having said that, there is no way in hell I would bring in a high priced free agent RB in today's NFL. That money goes elsewhere, for instance in the passing game. Our blueprint is not what I would chose to win in today's NFL, but it's not my problem. Fitt has a plan and if it doesn't work he'll be out of a job, and our Sunday's will suck for 4 hours.
  14. AE failed with every NFL team he was on from my recollection, and he had a really short career. Even so Gettleman was the worst, and my most hated Panthers GM. Our other GMs have been bad, but Gettleman was bad and he hated people in general. Doesn't get any worse than that.
  15. For me the anger won't come from a huge contract. Our blueprint to win is to pay our defensive guys big money and try to save money on offense and spread the ball around. Fine. The anger comes in if this doesn't work. The last time I saw Burns play was against Tampa Bay with the playoffs on the line. Burns was never anywhere near Brady, and that was with him going one on one, and with Brady holding the ball to go deep many times. Of course you can't judge a player on one game, even if it cost us a playoff birth. No anger from me on a mega deal for Burns. I know some of you are fans of certain players and want them to earn a lot of money because you're their fan. That's fine, but I'm not a player fan. I only want the team to do well, and I don't care what kind of money Burns makes, or if he's happy. Just win.
  16. Whew! I thought it was going to be slow and passive.
  17. Week 1 we'll find out. Until then this sounds like puffing to get the fans back in the stadium.
  18. I know more about our roster than the media, so I certainly don't go by predictions from Peter King or whoever. If I thought the media knew what they were talking about, then I'd go to Vegas and go all in on some W/L bets. To me we're headed to about 8 wins, and if we deviate much from that I'll be surprised. Even so, I'd never go bet on that. Sometimes teams under or over perform for logical or illogical reasons. Just the injury bug factor alone should scare people away from thinking they have a good idea of what is going to happen this season.
  19. I think Darnold's slow processing ability traumatized Fitt. It was a certainty that the next QB Fitt brought here would be a fast processing guy.
  20. That's nothing. I heard he's single-handedly acting as Ukraine's air defense. It's rumored he's already downed 4 Russian helicopters just by throwing a football at them. Yes we all know he's smarter than ChatGPT, but let's not forget about his throwing ability, leadership, and courage.
  21. Tolbert must not like this rumor because it would have been him.
