So the guy as a career year and Detroit wants to trade him. Doubt they get much for HIM. With his off the field issues Detroit will be lucky to get a 6th or 7th out of him.

Daniel Jeremiah’s . Final draft
DaveThePanther2008 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
One show I saw say there was something about him but they didn't elaborate. I believe Star was 8 as well. If Graham is everything they say. With him and Brown collapsing the pocket it will open things up for Clowney and the rest of our edge rushers. -
The 6-foot-2, 245-pounder is too undersized to be a base edge rusher in the NFL, so he will have to be a linebacker who rotates to rush off the edge in the subpackage. I was watching Locked On Panthers yesterday and M. Kaye from the Charlotte Observer made some pretty good comments on why we shouldn't take Walker. 1. Is he's undersized to be a full time Edge player. 2. Rookies don't start for an Evero team 3. You don't take a tweener at 8. If we take him I hope they define what his role will be. His situation reminds me so much of Jeremy Chinn. It's going to suck if we waste a pick on Walker when we could have had a true edge or DT plus an extra pick.

Why I Believe That We Will Trade Down
DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Walker is a good player and comes from a great defensive minded school but there a questions about him. He could be a superstar or bust. You trade down and will get a player with similar concerns and you jump into the middle of the second round where there are some good players. YOU'RE not getting a 1st next year and a 2nd for 8. These mock simulators give you fair value for the most part. I've tried and most counter offers were rejected. We trade down get a good first round graded player and jump into the middle of 2nd round and not having to wait for 57. Plus if a stud falls to the late first or early 2nd round we could package 46 and 57 and get him. -
It seems like almost every mock draft has us taking Walker, which I'm OK with, however I believe that we trade down. The odds of us getting Graham or Carter are very slim. Most mocks have Carter going no later than 4 and Graham doesn't get past Jacksonville. While choosing Walker is okay, we need more help defensively and there's a lot of really good players between 8 and 59. Every mock I did with a trade down gave me an extra second round pick in between 8 and 59. This particular mock I did I got two extra picks 46 and 78. Traded Down in Round One 8 to 15 and picked up 46 Traded again one spot 15 for 16 and picked up 78 I was able to get Carson Schwesinger with 46. While he may not be Luke, he patterns is game after him. He studies film and can I only believe he'll get better with Luke really advising him. After Tez Johnson the remaining draft was BPA. We need depth on defense and my lower round picks should give us that depth.

REPORT: Panthers open to trading down from #8
DaveThePanther2008 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am not sold on Sanders, but many think he'll be a starter. The question is? Do you pass on Sanders and tank 25 for the chance at Manning, IF he comes out in 2026? That IMO is a really long shot. If Sanders makes it to #9 I think they take Sanders. Hopefully, he makes it to #8 and we have the opportunity to get more picks and make N.O. run with Rattler and still miss out on Manning.- 104 replies

KaseKlosed Killer4 Round Mock Draft (With Trades)
DaveThePanther2008 replied to KaseKlosed's topic in Carolina Panthers
Interesting draft. I just don't know about taking a WR in round one regardless. We trade down we should get the best Edge or DT available. Here's one I did. Actually one of my favorite simulated drafts I've done. Traded Down in Round One from 8 to 15 and picked up 46 Traded 15 for 16 and picked up 78 -
REPORT: Panthers open to trading down from #8
DaveThePanther2008 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
With New Orleans right behind us and wanting a QB and good for us it's most likely going to be Sanders. We have a huge opportunity to pick up some draft capital and drop a couple of spots. We'll still get a high caliber player in a position of need. More importantly we screw New Orleans. Go Panthers- 104 replies

So what is your draft strategy after today?
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
Graham, Carter, Hunter, Johnson. The odds that one of these 4 players are still on the board is pretty good. If by some bad fate and they are gone. I trade down in round 1. -
Rough Depth Chart (with position analyses)
DaveThePanther2008 replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wouldn't be upset if we picked up another TE but Sanders showed improvement and with a full season under his belt could very well take the next step. Tremble is also getting better and better. Maybe Frank take the next step and becomes TE3. Hopefully 2024 was the last season we have to look at stone hands Thomas. -
Morgan is working his plan. Build the trenches. Built us a top ten offensive line last year and by signing Christensen he's keeping the family together. He's focusing on the defensive line to compliment Brown. Many of the new players are coming off their rookie deals. They kind of remind me of AJ Klein. He was behind Luke. A good player that moved on to the Saints and had a decent career. The draft last year we took many players that were questionable at the spot they were picked but have huge upsides to them if they develop properly. I liked most of his picks and look forward to this draft.

Any interest in Kyle Juszczyk?
DaveThePanther2008 replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
One or two year contract. Brooks won't be available in 2025. Why draft another RB when we could use the draft capital on other needs. I wouldn't mind with a decent contract. -

Could find multiple way to use him. I think he'd be a great addition. -

Panthers sign Rams NT Bobby Brown III
DaveThePanther2008 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
All of our free agents on the D-line should benefit from having DB next to them. They seem to indicate that this is reaction move since we missed out on Milton. Morgan last season fixed the O-line. This year is the defense. It does look like edge will be our focus in the draft. -
I like the fact that he has connections with Canales. You have to figure out what you are willing to pay him. Due to the fact that you are going to have to pay him what Seattle won't I would not give up more than an 4th or 5th rounder. If Seattle doesn't trade him, they will lose him in Free Agency next year. The cap guru needs to figure out a way to keep Horn and get us Metcalf. My personal opinion. We are going to be in the conversation, but our defense is a priority this off-season.

Panthers met with Skattebo at Combine

I did a couple of mock drafts and he's no lower than a 4th rounder. I would take him in the 4th. -

DaveThePanther2008 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope he ends up in a Panther uniform. Something about this kid makes me think he's going to be a special player. Nothing great stands out about him but he's just 100% football player that won't quit. -
I'm not against trading back but I really can't make a prediction until after free agency. Mock drafts are fun but mostly are pure speculation. Outside of a trade we won't really know the direction of the draft until we fill some of our needs in free agency. I believe we are going to stress defense in free agency, especially the defensive line. Morgan has stated that the trenches are the foundation to a good team. We addressed the O-line last year this year we'll address the defensive line. If we can address many of our needs through free agency than our options to trade down goes up. we'll find out in 10 days when Free Agency starts.

NFL.com's Lance Zierlein mock draft

If you follow most of these mock drafts you can see the writers true colors. Strange picks and somehow a stud lands to a desperate team. -
[The Athletic] Panthers big board: Draft options at No. 8
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Should have taken Eddie George. -
Honestly I don't recall the names that were mentioned but there were a few. I'm hoping they do address the offense in the draft. My point is that IMO they will dictate how round one goes because no one really knows who they will pick. It's all speculation right now. I think by the end of March, after free agency, we will be able to get a better idea of how the draft might go.
-
New England will define how this draft goes. They have 128 million in cap space. They could make a run at several top free agents including top tier LTs. They need to give Maye weapons and protection. If they address the offense through Free Agency our picks of Carter or Graham will be gone. If they go OT we might have a chance at one of the top defensive players.

I've noticed over several years that these bowl games are pretty much late day 2 and day 3 players. I don't think it is such a bad idea to look for players that have a high motor, is tough and smart. Of course they all can't be projects but one's with dawg mentalities definitely wouldn't hurt in the later rounds.
