  1. one amazing thing in that stat is how far away he is from everyone else on the list...it goes 53, 54, 55 then jumps to 66
  2. not a lot of news here, but a great breakdown on our cap. "At the end of the 2019/20 season, few NBA franchises appeared to be in a worse spot than the Hornets, who won just 23 games, missed the playoffs for a fourth straight seasons, and didn’t have any young players with legitimate star upside on their roster. The Hornets didn’t snap their playoff drought in 2021, but a year later, their outlook is considerably brighter. That turnaround can be attributed in large part to nailing the No. 3 pick in the 2020 draft. LaMelo Ball became the NBA’s Rookie of the Year and looks like the best bet of any 2020 draftee to eventually make an All-Star team. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2021/06/2021-nba-offseason-preview-charlotte-hornets.html
  3. the left tackle's contract is up after this year. They'll move Ramczyk to left tackle next year (and probably a lot this year as much as Armstead is injured. 19 mill per year for a LT is worth it.
  4. I think they are planning on moving him to LT when Armstrong's contract runs out after the season (or gets hurt again). He's played LT for the Saints before. That would justify the 19 mill per year.
  5. here's an extremely simple recipe for cooks of any level, and one that has a good bit of a wow factor. You don't even have to cook anything. It's a perfect summer dish, great for brunch and parties. If you really want to impress someone, you can tell them that it's shrimp ceviche. You can buy frozen cooked shrimp, even cocktail shrimp, just make sure they are peeled. Bloody Mary Shrimp pound of cooked shrimp, chopped 3/4 cup bloody mary mix ( get a spicy one) 1.5 teaspoon of celery salt juice of 1 lime 2 tbl minced cilantro 2 tbl minced red onion 1 diced avocado hot sauce salt and pepper to taste Put the shrimp in a plastic bag, add the bloody mary mix, half the lime juice and the celery salt. Let it marinade in the fridge for at least 2 hours, 3-4 is better. Drain and add the other ingredients. serve with chips, plantain chips, or over rice. Can be a meal or an appetizer.
  6. Interesting...the 3-2-1 method is many competition folk (including me) do ribs. Works very well. I don't use much mesquite, will use for beef in a pinch. Pecan is nice.
  7. I saw Ree Drummond make those and bought crackers to make them...never got around to it...they look really good...thanks! I'll be standing near those
  8. I've smoked wild pigs, not sure what kind of boar you're got. Wild ones don't have nearly as much fat as farm grown, so keep an eye on em so they don't dry out. Lots of folks will put bacon over wild game while cooking so they don't get too dry. The ones I got were feral hogs raiding farms in the Pee Dee...they were eating a lot of what farm raised hogs are fed, so the taste was very much the same, just leaner.
  9. fried squash is the future crypto currency. My mom made the best...thin sliced, coated in cornmeal, me burning my mouth eating them as she ladled them onto paper towels to drain just as fast as she could make them, her yelling at me to stop eating them all ....man. That's on the menu soon. I also love the simple squash and onions....so easy, so good, perfect Carolina summer food. We always had a garden.
  10. we're missing some beverages...where's all the bourbon snobs....and we could use a cold frosty beverage from Bremen....
  11. I'll be bringing homegrown cherokee purple tomatoes...it's been my offseason hobby. Grew em from seed starting in January....I've got 5 plants and my neighbor has 3, as well as 4 more plants of other tomatoes. Ain't nothin' in the world that I like better Than bacon & lettuce & home grown tomatoes Up in the mornin' out in the garden Get you a ripe one don't get a hard one Plant 'em in the spring eat 'em in the summer All winter without 'em's a culinary bummer Here's a pic of one that I grew I'll bring plenty...just slice and eat them with salt and pepper, or make your own BLT....bacon, lettuce, tomato, Dukes mayo and bread....nothing better...
  12. As the current keeper of the Game Day Menu threads, Basbear asked me to start this thread. One month from today is the start of training camp...let the countdown begin! One week from today is the 4th of July. To celebrate both, and pass some time, we thought it would be a great opportunity for a thread in which all Huddlers could post what they will bring to our first ever E-BBQ. The goal is to a have a thread that helps pass some time, and one without any politics...a thread in which we can all come together as Panthers fans with the goal of having fun, just like a virtual tailgate. PICS ARE ENCOURAGED!!! If we get enough activity during the week, it would be great if we could post recipes and real pics of our celebrations this weekend. At one time we had a recipe thread, and this isn't meant as a replacement, just a place to gather as fans and share some good food and good vibes. I'll chime in later...if you can't cook, you can still contribute...just tell us you're bringing plates, decorations, fireworks, cold beverages....we can start with any pics you can find, but if you have pics of food you've made, cookouts that you've held or attended. All are invited! That said, it was Basbear's intention that this thread be about unity and Panthers fans getting together for a good time...at least virtually. With that said, I beseech the mods to monitor this thread with a heavy hand. We don't want any negativity for just one thread. What are you bringing? Get in the spirit and
  13. over the cap is very close to these numbers...Big hits are Teddy and KK, Luke is next. However, for next year.... only $2,666,668...Tre Boston.
  14. there is always an avalanche of information during the draft, so for those that may have missed it, Matt Rhule's wife sent him a text before the Panthers 4th round pick that something similar to "draft Chuba or don't come home." Fortunately, Matt slept well that night.
  15. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/best-offensive-lines-in-the-nfl-ranked/ 31) Carolina Panthers When we look back at the 2021 NFL Draft in the coming years, the Carolina Panthers not addressing their offensive line could easily stand out as one of the more questionable decisions. While they retained Taylor Moton on the franchise tag at right tackle, Cameron Erving is set to start at left tackle. Erving’s 1.7% run stuff rate is among the bottom 10 for players who played more than 100 snaps in 2020. An interior grouping of Matt Paradis, Pat Elflein, and John Miller does not give the line a huge boost. Paradis struggled in the run game with 14 blown blocks, tied for the third most. Meanwhile, Elflein’s blown block rate of 4% placed him as the seventh-worst interior offensive lineman in 2020.
  16. David Moore is really good. We're in a perfect position to let Terrace get fully healthy. I'm gonna miss Robby. Hoping David is good enough to keep, and Terrace reaches the high ceiling all the draft scouts were talking about. Our WR group is strong and deep, and I have a sneaky feeling about Shi Smith. It's weird having all this talent and depth at WR and CB. Anyone remember our WR corp that Cam took to the Super Bowl?
  17. for the record, the Hornets had a 1.8% chance of getting the #1 pick. We got number 11.
  18. when we signed Rhule, I kept reading about his relationship will all his college players. I did some research on his former players who were in the NFL, and when their contracts ended, just in case some might want to play for him again. Hasson was top of the list, but I knew we couldn't afford him. Then came the pandemic, the lower salary cap, and sudden one year deals....and here he is. Hopefully he gets 10+ sacks and we sign him to a 3 year deal and then sign Brian Burns when Hasson's contract ends. If he wants to stay for another year or two we might be able to swing it, but if not... it will probably have been one hell of a fun time watching those guys together for 3 years. fingers crossed that everything comes together.
  19. After we finally got lucky last year, could it happen again? I won't feel guilty if we get a top 4 pick. Getting a chance to get one of the few big men available this year would be the thing that puts us in the top tier for the future.
  20. when you say, "had a nice gummy," exactly how many have you had today?
