  1. Tampa looks pretty ripe to be an underdog every week.
  2. He has to show his value for people to appreciate it. I don’t think he has done that, but what he has shown wasn’t good. Just be honest. Without all the damned excuses. It wasn’t good at all. I was pretty surprised at how bad he looked. I don’t think that is who he is either but it is up to him to show it Now. He’ll get a chance somewhere. He would stay if he were smart, all that has to happen is they were wrong about Young. They really might be too.
  3. I can keep up and acquaint myself with the top 40 guys at the most. Maybe I get to our 2nd round prospects but nowhere near the detail it takes. Past the obvious I really hesitate to slam a mid round pick unless future draft picks are involved. That always pisses me off regardless. Who has time to research 200 players? If I took the time I may not know what I am looking at unless it is, again, really obvious.
  4. After what they did with the first pick, people shouldn’t expect magic. We made a hole with DJ where there wasn’t one and the picks of course. But DJ was a big hole. It really is too many holes to fill with what is left over from all that. I am going to focus on Evero wanting Johnson, and they surely owed him a player by that point. The extra risk/investment is pretty small potatoes compared to what was done for round 1, not sweating it. I really have optimism for Mingo. He has the speed he needs and more size than most that can motor like that. Plus, I think he will be a man on the field and his hands are really being underrated by some. He could be somebody.
  5. I think they went pretty far down that offensive road to risk with the business Thursday.
  6. First, he paid the price to get to meddle. It is his right. Whether he does it well or not, is more a question than will he meddle. Of course he is gonna meddle. He has, and will. edit: switching the D, makes it hard to give more to the O.
  7. The thing about this is, if someone sees something that disagrees with a preconception they have arrived at, no one validates the question. There is no respect for a dissenting opinion. Everything is personalized. HATERS! I don't think I had one person respond to a specific criticism I formed from watching Young's pro day. The couple that did, were not on the "Bryce" wagon. No one that is a Bryce, just the first name (like you are a dues paying fan club member), no one rebutted. They made comments, sometimes asserting how great he was, but no one addressed the thing I posted about. That was weeks ago. It hasn't changed. I see it with others. The user tuka something something has voiced well articulated concerns that go ignored or if they are rebutted it is with I don't even know what...just different degrees of dismissive attitudes. But no engaging the points. There are excellent observations that merit discussion and consideration but he is just wasting his time, really. Like I am, doing this, I realize. Enough. Enjoy the draft.
  8. Today and the redefining of words….. hater is a number one type example. I am anti Bryce Young. Saw what I needed to see to pass on him. Was against trading up to 1 for any one of the prospects. Once it becomes him vs a guy that throws a great ball that is more proto sized I am in. Best choice out of poorer choices for the scenario. Which is we paid the premium price, but for non true premium assets. Do the best you can with a non ideal situation. I think Young is fools good, so if I am hating on anyone it is the fervent Young worshippers who call me a hater. Long as we are straight.
  9. Exactly what is going on, I think. The pick was made during the hiring process.
  10. And there will be 11 of them on the field. Not three. Or two. Try this: Take nearly any one of these SEC college players that made an NFL a roster, look at their body and their game at the end of their college career, vs following just one season in the NFL. Which one do you think wins a one on one? College self or 1 year NFL vet self? I may feel okay betting on Young with a top ten pick, maybe. I’d feel really good about making it in the 20s. But I don’t make that bet at 1.1 having to pay so much extra to get the chance. When I say I don’t want Young, well arbitrarily I don’t simply because of his size, he falls outside my okay zone. But there is a chance he overcomes that and also overcomes a suspect arm (in my mind), and I would take it at the right price. 1.1 plus considerable future and current assets- is so far out of that right price range I couldn’t even really take it seriously.
  11. Receivers def influence a QB’s stats. Stats aren’t really necessary to evaluate a guy if you watch the guy enough. Most people here watched a ton of Cam. To me Cam sort of was what he was. Top notch capability, arm strength, threw a pretty ball, all that. Not to mention his other beyond prototypical physical attributes. But claims that he lacked touch on shorter throws, are true. He struggled with that. If everyone watched him, why is it even a question? He was sort of inconsistent, trying to take something off just never looked pretty.
  12. Agree 100. I thought more of the people brought in, but let’s remember they haven’t done it yet. Can’t charge them with thinking stupidly, they have to act.
  13. If he doesn’t he will get some Karma drafting a brand new expensive toy QB.
  14. I considered that. There are parallels for the behavior, how it could even happen almost subconsciously. They give him the answer he wants to hear because they want to be hired. One thing I really liked about Wilks was I felt he would stand his ground, and had a strong BS radar. If he were here and behind Young I would at least think some more about taking Young seriously at 1.1. I want to trust Reich too but do not yet.
  15. I accept it as fact when it becomes fact. Definitely not excited. Feel worse than I felt when they hired Rhule. Worse than I felt when they traded for Darnold. Worse even than when they inexplicably picked up his option.
  16. Some of you guys better check the mirror and make sure you wiped your chins off.
  17. Yep. But the day they pulled that deal off was worse. The destination was determined, this is them telling you what car they are buying for the trip. I'd rather take Richardson that Young as far as it goes. I dunno. Can't wrap my head around trading all of that for a 5'10" college player.
  18. If someone could give up 2024 1st, I don't mind waiting. Marty, are you listening?
  19. You probably saw it before I did. I thought I fixed it pretty quickly too, I saw it maybe a minute after I posted it. Meant to type: This year.
  20. This year, people could fall into a worse one if they aren’t 1. Trying to think of the last time a team with 1.1 was this stocked up.
  21. Everyone is biased but you! Rare air you breathe.
  22. I’d have preferred to hear Luke talk about how to defend each top QB prospect, which would be the hardest and why. That sort of thing. I know he went into it generically, but like how can you defend Young? Stroud?
  23. Can’t complain. He is a vet now, been around some different coaches and QBs, and should be a better version than what was here before. And we would have to be exceedingly lucky to be able to draft a WR who could make an impact as a rook, where we will be picking. Because of that, I don’t see it as a high draft priority. Get someone at a different position that can come in and help their first year. Edge, TE maybe?
