  1. Okay where did the sudden switch to the 3-4 in Tepper's first year of football involvement come from? If Tepper didn't give a direct suggestion he had to have made his preferences known. He wants to be Pittsburgh. Wanted to be. Ron wanted to keep his job. I feel like he put a lot of pressure on Rhule to get a QB which may have led to what looked like desperation mode mentality.
  2. Everyone has seen QBs that are highly drafted the last few years, turn up on another roster after 2 or three seasons. May as well scout them all now.
  3. As far as doghouse, wasn't he a healthy scratch starting out last year? I know they sat him at least once (first Saints week) but I think almost until Rhule was gone.
  4. I think they are going to give him a chance to shoulder some weight. They traded Moore. Number one that tells him no one is irreplaceable, and number two it tells me they could see something in Marshall.
  5. I think people are undervaluing 5% more arm strength. Just picked that number but these things increase in value exponentially when you get to the upper levels of performance. Maybe it is 2% but maybe it is 10%. I believe a small gap in ability can make a real difference when the margin for error narrows way down. Like against better competition. I did watch some of Young’s pro day. I saw him take the running start on a deep ball. Like, shuffle step up and then step into throw. Okay which first of all, if a guy needs a clean runway to make a long throw he won’t find much of that in the NFL. It is the arm when you get down to it. You can have the best of the rest.
  6. Anyone ever conclude how much more it may have taken to get to #1 over #3?
  7. I don't think they go 3-14 whoever they pick, but if they did Chicago would be sitting fat, not Carolina.
  8. Yeah about the Bears. Fields isn’t that promising but they had a chance to replace him, they don’t see an upgrade there. Should be a warning, because I know there are qb sluts here that got a thing for every one that comes out and were all over Fields. What warning? Lol. They’ll be all over Young and Stroud. That is where most of this noise is coming from. I would have much preferred to sit at 9.
  9. It is still coach influenced. His moves. Collaborative. Owner too. It does seem they are on the same page, I can't complain about FA really. This trading everything they did to take a 5'10" college QB? I don't see the savvy there. Not crazy about giving that up for the other guy either really. but if I have to pick one..
  10. Same. Carr and develop a couple of young guys you didn't have to trade future draft gold to get, could have worked despite what the instant gratification obsessed claim. But not at that money for Carr.
  11. I don't think you go through the coaching search, and hire all these QBs and offensive brains just to disagree with their preference and overrule them. Don't see that happening.
  12. Yeah, no one had a good answer for him all the way through the playoffs. He was The difference in the games I watched.
  13. Rhule. Tepper 1.0. If this desperation move to get a QB doesn’t work, it gets worse from here not better.
  14. All this is why you shouldn’t spend future number ones on a current number one. But people are stupid.
  15. It’s okay, they are gonna go with Golf Rules to be fair to everyone, Handicap system. Young will get a few strokes.
  16. Seems like people for Young are being more aggressive with the justifications. Napoleon complex maybe? Don’t know how many more times people can say no thank you nicely How about this: how many Young advocates are 6’3” or thereabouts and how many are under 6’? I have a presumed outcome here.
  17. He'll probably heed his wife this time, and this time she won't be right. If you are untrained, 50% is good. That is the 'Panthers way' right there.
  18. I'm pretty much there, I did not want to get 1st choice, a good value gamble at original 9 suited me just fine.
  19. I more vote against a particular candidate. Voting for Stroud. Lesser of the two potential evils.
  20. Not really. The owner wants a college QB and will pay whatever it takes to make it happen. He'd have paid hell firing Wilks though, if Piniero made the gimme. Makes me wonder if Tepper paid him a little extra to help him out with that. Now Piniero decides it wasn't enough, talks with Tepper and here we are. Ha I am just kidding. Thought it isn't hard to imagine.
  21. Thank you. We are on the same side, glad we are good. Lol I own a F150, but it's just a truck not a political statement. I just needed a truck to take my boat a half mile down the way to the local landing.
  22. Made? I don't mind your posts about football, not one bit. No problem. I agree with parts of them. No one should be made to do a damned thing.
  23. I can make a guess as to what's bloated... err, I meant inflated. Right.
  24. I am hoping he does well. Especially when they play other NFCS teams.
