  1. I think that the goal is to trade down, and always has been, and still get your man. What you have to try and determine is how far you can go before someone else pushes their chips in.
  2. I think that people buy into media-driven narratives too much. Players surprise and players bust from every draft class (and that includes QBs). Scouts are wrong and right every year, and so is everyone else. I don't think that you'll necessarily come to the correct answers if all you do is listen and parrot what scouts are saying, much less talking-heads. In our case, people must remember that OTs bust too.
  3. I am not going to hate on him for being frugal. It shows good judgment.
  4. I don't believe we'll make a "panic" move. I also don't believe we'll be trotting Darnold out as the intentional starter again. There's too much on the line. I think that whatever is done will be well-thought-out, and I believe different expectations--benchmarks--will be considered by Tepper as a result.
  5. I think there's a lot of smoke and mirrors going on. I'm thinking that the one NFC coach discussing Willis sounds kinda familiar... From the sound of these quotes, it seems to me that the top four are the only four to five that even have a chance of becoming regular NFL starters. Some Huddlers want to take a swing. If I'm taking one, it will be with the most enigmatic guy whose tough as sh¡t, has the arm talent and the arm strength to make legit NFL throws, has shown an unquestioned trajectory of growth, has tremendous upside, and is a proven leader. I'm taking the "dude"...that dude.
  6. I could see If an O-lineman was fuging up, and Rhule says, "let's start [so and so]", but the OL coach should have the first say-so in my opinion. It's not like an OL coach is going to intentionally start a worse guy. Pertaining to the O-line, Campen has to know better than Rhule.
  7. Exactly what I was thinking yesterday. I think he probably prefers the latter.
  8. Baker hasn't really been consistently good, which is the problem. I'll give him 1 decent year of four. I'm not giving anything substantial for 25% "goodness."
  9. Baker has been in a markedly better position. Let's not forget that tidbit. Other than changing coordinators, like Darnold, Baker's situation has been superior in every way. I'll take Baker over Sam for sure, but only if we don't give anything of consequence. Otherwise, this FO, Fitterer included, will appear like braindead zombies.
  10. I have an open mind. At least he's not raw as steak tartare and doesn't have 16-year-old girl hands.
  11. All speculation. Two first round picks and additional picks/players is likely good enough. The Texans didn't even get what they wanted for Watson. Just my opinion: any GM willing to trade three first round picks for Murray is foolish.
  12. There were reports that per "league sources", there was "mutual disinterest" between both parties. That may mean nothing, but I will say that in Baker's first interview after breaking his silence, he mentioned Seattle as a potential fit and didn't say sh!t about the Panthers, when we're arguably the most obvious ones.
  13. Honestly, Baker is ultimately going to play wherever he can because no one really wants him. I'm not even sure that we do. Sure, we'll take him under the right circumstances (which will include jettisoning Sammy), but I just don't see it happening. Forcing the issue for Baker Mayfield just seems too funny to say (funny as in peculiar and/or humorous).
  14. I like the news about Corral. I love thee news about not selling the farm for Garropolo or Mayfield. If what you say is true, I'm content. Now, all I have to do is wait and see how next Thursday falls.
  15. The names coming up are the Falcons and the Saints (which have the firepower to do it).
  16. I am not a proponent of paying Kap a lot of money; what I am a proponent of is giving him a shot to play in the league once more. Regardless of what his skill level was, he was still better (and is still likely better) than some that are signed right now, and that's with six years off. And on an off note: NFL QBs don't forget how to play football, they're bodies let them down after a while, especially if they've taken a beating, or they just don't feel like making the sacrifices anymore that it takes to compete. Kap is apparently not in that place, and his situation is unique. It's also unfortunate. Ultimately, he has to take what he can get or just move on. I don't think he's delusional enough to be trying to back up the Brinks truck to any franchise
  17. Kap got a settlement from the NFL; we aren't talking about some poor slob from the CFL trying to get a vacation by listening to a timeshare presentation. As for spending a lot of money on Kap, I'm pretty sure that if he was offered a contract that it wouldn't amount to much in the grand scheme of things. As for paying for a mediocre QB, I think it's infinitely worse to be paying one going on 20 mil per year whether he's younger or not, especially when there are journeyman that make more sense from an economic and possibly upside perspective.
  18. Hey, if he doesn't take what he can get, that's on him. My point has always been is that there were worse QBs in the league than him. Because of how things went down, we'll never know what could've been.
  19. I don't believe that his meaning was literal as opposed to meaning that there are some elements that are reflective of slavery from some perspectives. He's hardly the first person that's ever suggested that. People shouldn't be so literal all the time.
