  1. That's true, but I was referring to the overall thought that Garropolo is "significantly" better than TB. I don't know that that idea has any wings outside the Huddle bubble other than maybe with Caserio or possibly New England (and I don't even know if they really believe it).
  2. I think that's a stretch. Garropolo isn't even ranked higher than TB on some boards, but he's certainly not "significantly better than Bridgewater" by most accounts. He's damaged goods that was once propped up by the aura of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady in some respect.
  3. I saw this last night and declined to post on it due to no substantiation whatsoever. It just flies in the face of everything that I've read about Watson, and the timing is suspiciosly right on time by a questionable character who apparently has a relationship with an owner with suspect character. I'd bet that there's nothing to this at the end of the day.
  4. I don't think it's "panic", I think it's the desire to have a legit franchise QB for the foreseeable future, and in Watson's case it's a young, proven, legit franchise QB with NFL experience just entering his prime, and that just doesn't happen.
  5. It was always pretty unrealistic to think that they were trying to replace him.
  6. Those three with a QB worth a damn would be killer! Choose your poison! That being said, I don't believe it.
  7. Nelson Agholor will be a very good signing for them.
  8. Yeah, I'd like to explicitly hear their reasoning for that...but probably will never know.
  9. I mean, Fitterer told everyone his strategy. He wants to go into the draft with as few holes as possible so that we can get the BPA! I mean, this isn't really rocket science. With the draft being deep in quality OL prospects, I'd bet that we pick up one or two.
  10. I also disagree with you on that Smith earned his increase. He's a baller! It's only around 30 mil guaranteed.
  11. I'll take Njoku! I'd think that Everett's money would be a helluva lot closer to Njoku's than Smith's though. It'll be interesting to see.
  12. I always thought that we should try and sign Gerald Everett a little cheaper, and rely on the draft.
  13. A first and second this year and a second next year is hardly "the farm"! Hardly!
  14. Only if we don't completely believe that one of these QBs will be a franchise QB who will play well in the scheme.
  15. The 40 is outdated and isn't really a good way to measure what athletes will do once pads come on and real live action begins! Other notably fast QBs didn't run it either (like the most feared QB when he runs in the NFL right now).
  16. "...but for the most part what is valid is total distance and the distribution of peak velocities reached based on time." https://www.google.com/amp/s/simplifaster.com/articles/athlete-tracking-systems/
  17. I'll be glad to get him, and I don't care whether they sit him or not. I can see the benefits both ways. Rhule seems like a wise and knowledgeable enough guy to make an informed decision, and in a way that doesn't hinder Lance's development if in fact he does let him play. More reps in a planned and thoughtful manner are exactly what Lance needs to succeed! If they come in practice, great; if they come in live games, sobeit!
  18. As for whose fault the Teddy situation is, I think it's a combination of Marty's, Hurney's and Brady's overstated valuation of him as a starting QB. They may have had some pressure from Tepper to try and field something competitive as opposed to just resetting and cleaning the slate beginning last offseason, but it is what it is now. Rhule is still here (and has acknowledged his error implicitly, even if he hasn't said anything too explicitly), and the buck now stops with him (and Tepper on another level) as far as that Bridgewater score is concerned. They're still new to this NFL-leadership thing, so they deserve a mulligan IMO. Now it's all about fixing it!
  19. Man, I don't know. I gave Teddy all kinds of the benefit of doubt before the season began, even though I shook my head at the amount and terms of the contract, now I'm not so inclined to give him grace, though I admittedly could be being overly negative. I don't know if we'd have had as severe of red zone issues (which may have done wonders), but Teddy wasn't on his game...or maybe he was. His contract, IMO, should have been a functional one-year prove-it deal, even if it was for two or three years. If he wouldn't have signed, I'd have let him go to the Bears. But, anyway, that's water under the bridge.
  20. I haven't studied Mond enough right now to say anything, but from the little that I know, I'd think that Jones or Mond on day three, some would say "two", wouldn't be a bad thing.
