  1. Von was 32 and Reddick was 27 with less sacks over his career. Burns is 25 and the last time a player that young with that many sacks hit the market it was Joey Bosa (27 mil/year) 3 years ago. Hard to see Burns going for less than that especially after Nick Bosa goes for somewhere north of 31 mil/year.
  2. The Panthers are definitely significantly low balling him. If they wanted that Crosby type deal they should have extended him last offseason not after we went out and exceeded it.
  3. Burns wants paid and Panthers want Bosa to reset the market first. So the Panthers wait and Burns doesn't want to tank his value with an injury so he sits. It's really that simple, no problem with Burns doing it. The market is going to substantially reset and both Bosa and Burns agents know that. Two of the top pass rushers (Bosa literally the best) entering negotiations at a very young age (25 yo). Better hope San Fran gets a move on.
  4. Feel like its only a matter of time until Robert Rochell is signed here at this point.
  5. With those rumors that were coming out about TrembIe, I wonder if we might be trying to move him and maybe keep Ricci. Ricci was a converted WR back in college and was liked enough for his blocking to be our fullback last year. Maybe the Bronco TE is viewed more favorably than Sullivan for pass catching because he hasn't been a very good blocker to put it nicely.
  6. It was never all happening this year, but there are solid pieces here to potentially keep them competitive in the first season.
  7. 3 more initial moves to make. Have to imagine others as well with them looking to rework the defense.
  8. The 7th we sent was Arizona's so I think they're safe on that swap
  9. There's our attempt to add some speed/field-stretching back to the roster. Worked with Theilen back in Minnesota for a little and was very versatile at Iowa (receiving, rushing, returning)
  10. Receiving core took some strays. Chark and Bryd injuries have really sapped the unit of that real speed. Young has been great all preseason, feeling surprisingly comfortable with that pick going into the season.
  11. I refuse to click the link but seeing as how most of the starting OL has looked poor I don't know why Ickey was signaled out. Bozeman got absolutely abused in the last game and I've heard no mention of it. I think its a fair question to wonder if an offense built on a heavy dose of the power run game last year insulated this offensive line and maybe the pass protection is lacking a little but a couple dozen preseason snaps isn't a reason to panic.
  12. Does Watkins still have wheels to be a deep threat? That's about the only WR I see out there right now that could fit that role. Maybe someone will come open in cut downs.
  13. Here's your players with over 50 targets in 2011 and 2015: 2011 Targets Rec Yards Y/R TD Smith 129 79 1394 17.6 7 Olsen 89 45 540 12.0 5 Naanee 76 44 467 10.6 1 Shockey 62 37 455 12.3 4 Stewart 61 47 413 8.8 1 LaFell 56 36 613 17.0 3 - DWill was next in targets with 25. Team also had 3 players over 700 yards rushing. 2015 Targets Rec Yards Y/R TD Olsen 124 77 1104 14.3 7 Ginn 97 44 739 16.8 10 Funchess 63 31 473 15.3 5 Cotchery 54 39 485 12.4 3 Brown 54 31 447 14.4 4 - WR share was similar just spread across 4 targets now, TE now featured but the share also about the same as Dickson had 26 targets. RB target share decreased compared to 2011 as Stewart, Tolbert and Whittaker combined for 59 targets. This year I'd say you're probably closer to 2015 than 2011 looking at the way the WR core is built, but with Hurst and Sanders kind of sharing those Olsen targets more. And obviously far less of those higher risk, down the field shots Newton excelled at.
  14. Main concern is with the pass protection from the OL (Everyone but Moton really). Just worried they were insulated by a heavy run offense last season. Defense probably needs some time to adjust to scheme and personnel changes. No concerns with Bryce from what I've seen, he's looked very good in his limited snaps.
  15. Other Interesting Tidbits: - Nolen Smith was a player we were watching to pair with Burns in the draft for 39th until he went 30th - Stephen Sullivan is really pushing Tremble for TE3
  16. He is going to be switching with DB in that nose role. His tape suggests his size wont be an issue as he's been very solid against the run in his career. They probably feel it wont be a problem even though his role will be slightly different here with more two gapping.
  17. Jensen probably makes this roster, especially with Corbett likely hitting PUP. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Zavala taking over the LG position sooner rather than later because of his size and Christensen moving into swing tackle. Agent 89 mentioned something similar on his podcast as well: He also mentions Wright and Milton as dawgs who could be taking spots from Taylor and STO in the secondary and Peoples battling Chubba for RB2. Alot of the UDFAs could be taking positions from incumbents as the coaching staff makes their mark on the roster.
  18. I agree 40s are just indicators that make you confirm or re-watch tape. All I did is give you the full video of his run. Put the stopwatch on him if you don't believe LSU. Don't ignore Mingo as a deep threat either, who was clocked over 22 mph in pads.
  19. Max Borghi. I left him off because it seemed redundant in our RB room but he's been solid and could get another look in the league as like a 3rd down back.
  20. Some names to keep an eye on after looking around with a mind on age and/or production: RB - Abram Smith WR - Hakeem Butler CB - Luq Barcoo, Michael Joseph, Kary Vincent Jr., Ajene Harris iOL - Dohnovan West, Michael Maietti, Alex Mollette, Liam Fornadel, Jamil Demby OT - Derrick Kelly EDGE - Trent Harris
