the eagles scored more points than any super bowl loser ever has and you’ve still got people who are like “defense changed the game! Look at that one play! I want a STUD LINEBACKER!” The game isn’t structured to reward defensive teams or teams that chew clock and pound rocks or whatever other blasé cliche you’re holding onto so tightly there’s one path to sustained success lots of passing, big name free agent acquisitions, blockbuster trades those are the teams playing in the super bowl.

but #1 overall picks still won’t have won a super bowl in X amount of seasons, why bother then? the team needs to move down, stockpile lots of interior linemen, and continue trying to show the nfl that it’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game that matters.
