Burns is a very good athlete. He'll beat OTs that aren't technically sound. If he had to play Icky twice a year, he'd have an easy 5 sacks in those two games alone. He needs to become a more consistent tackler and be more under control at the point. He probably misses just as many sacks as he makes. Like gets there and then misses the tackle. Plus, once teams start running at him, he starts to lose interest in the game. If my offensive tackles were weak in pass pro, I'd run right at Burns the first 3 drives. He'll give you 5+ yards a run, easy. You can even get fancy and use a TE to kick him out. And that's if he doesn't just get too far upfield that he takes himself out of the play. Yeah, he's not worth 20M+ a year. He just isn't.

Aren't TEs known to take 2-3 years to develop? Brock may be an exception, but would rather go with Tommy Tremble in a clear #1 TE role. Great blocker, improved hands, hard to bring down, and crazy as all get out! Plus he never gets injured. They need to get the oline and WRs right. Should be highest priorities on the team. And judging by FA, it is.

Yep. Your defense ain't winning games in 2024. Creating rules every year to make it harder to play defense - hence the hip drop rule this year. If you can't put up points, you can't win in today's NFL.

I have been watching some Bucs games, and I do think Canales' run game is better suited for a Chuba than it is for White. Chuba is gonna eat. I hope he is featured over Sanders this season, as he better fits the scheme.

Very true. Let's just hope the upgrades at oline and WR help him be able to to do that more effectively. Felt like nothing was easy last year and he started to hesitate more and more. He has to get out of his head and just play ball.

Legette probably needs two or three seasons before we see something closer to his final form. There are others that will contribute a lot sooner.

Bryce's strengths and weaknesses will likely dictate that pick. I don't agree with that approach though. Take the best prospect that will contribute early and often. Particularly that 33rd pick. It should be treated as a late first rounder in terms of contribution.

Tua was the #5 pick in the draft. 2nd QB in a draft that included Joe Burrow, Justing Herbert, Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts. Tua had all the tangibles coming out of college. Miami got the crap beat out of him early on and he's just now starting to figure the NFL out. But Tua is no scrub - at least not coming out of college.

Yeah, never thought he had high end velocity on his throws. That definitely is not his game. Average velocity, with high end ability to throw at different angles. And Bryce does lose velocity with those awkward throws. Mahomes can throw with velocity at all angles. He's just a freak.

I honestly don't get the "weak arm" point. I wouldn't compare his arm to prime Cam Newton or Josh Allen, but I'd say it's comparable to Drew Brees or Tua. Not elite, but more than good enough. I don't know if he has the lift to throw the ball late on a go-route or a fade going away from him on the other side of the field. But he can complete a first or second option deep route based on arm strength. He wouldn't have won a Heisman playing in the SEC if he couldn't do that. Not as a passing QB.

How many passes over 35 yards are thrown a game? How many are completed? I feel like taking the shots are as important as hitting them, to keep the defense honest. The first step is to take more shots and calling plays/schemes that make them early reads in the progression.

That draft would pay HUGE dividends in 2025. I few contributions in 2024. But in 2025, this draft would change this team's future. Granted, for the first time ever, Carolina would become an offensive team. Something none of us would recognize. And yes it'd be a little scary for awhile. But... Welcome to the new NFL.

Don't even think about drafting another QB until the team is sure they have created a situation conducive to a QB's success - particularly a rookie QB.

This is so true. And... a QB has to LEARN to trust his oline. They can't get him smashed on 2 of every 3 drop backs, and then expect that he'll stand in the pocket on the 1 out of 3 times he isn't escaping pressure as soon as he snaps the ball. And then to step into throws when you see guys getting pushed into you? I'm not sold on Bryce. No one can say with certainty that he will be a good NFL QB. He hasn't shown that. But I do acknowledge that the chaos and lack of protection last season make it equally impossible to declare him a bust. We just don't know yet.

TnT is crazy as heck! Anytime you see a 6'4" guy jumping over people on a football field, he really has no regard for his body.

I'd usually be all for it. But this team needs true wide receivers and playmakers. This offense has been very very very fuggin difficult to watch the last 6 seasons. Defense doesn't win championships anymore. Heck defense doesn't even really win regular season games anymore. Panthers been marching out respectable to great defenses for a long time, and very little to show for it. Never even had consecutive winning seasons - like ever. Get with the times and stop thinking they're smarter than everyone else.

And I don't mean a 7th round special teamer as one either. 2nd and 3rd worst case scenario.
