  1. If we draft him and he does well, I feel bad for the miserable souls who wouldn’t enjoy that. Same goes for Stroud. However you know it will happen, as we have experience over the past decade of fans not enjoying the Cam ride, and hating him the whole time.
  2. Are you sure you aren’t the one ignoring the on the field stuff?
  3. Probably Mingo. Just makes sense to pair with Corral.
  4. The tangible news? Corral is 220 pounds and in good shape. Reading between the lines news? Sure seems like Bryce is the pick.
  5. I think you are underestimating him as much as some here are overestimating him. It’s looking like he’s the guy at #1, but like I say a lot, between him/Stroud or Corral, we just need one to hit. I think we will end up being okay.
  6. So are we rooting for him to suck so Corral can play? Because there is a lot to love about Bryce. There are also several parallels between the skill sets of Young and Corral. I can’t love those traits in Corral while shitting on them with Young. And one thing I wish Corral had that Young has a better feel for is avoiding getting smashed. One thing you love and hate with Corral is that bit of Cam in there that wants to run through hits for another yard or two. But odds are Young is the pick, and I’m excited to not see Baker/Darnold/Teddy/PJ/Allen ever play for us again.
  7. What’s makes him interesting is that his floor is ELITE blocking TE. The issue is, that might be his ceiling though too. But let me tell you, he’s such an amazing blocker that if he develops average route running/pass catching, he’s not a bust in the 2nd round. I know he tests well, but the question (for me) is whether his change of direction will ever be good enough at his size to get any type of separation, and if that’s the case, he would need great hands to make up for it. Great hands at his size is a weapon, defender on him or not.
  8. I do see people setting themselves up for major disappointment, and arguing in such a way that they will have to choose between holding onto their beliefs, or supporting the QB we actually draft. It’s fine favoring a prospect, but both these guys are talented players, and both are a chance at fixing QB.
  9. Reviews from training camp were very positive. However that’s training camp so most of that stuff is fluff anyway. He was doing all the right things though but our (very) lame duck coach wasn’t putting a make or break year on a rookie. Basically the kid had bad luck in his situation, and then bad luck with the foot. If our new rookie plays well and stays healthy, Corral will be somewhere else next year ideally. No sense cutting him now when he hasn’t had a chance to show anything. That’s the only take I can’t…take. It’s almost as if some people here have viewed him as a net negative on the roster since he showed up. Not sure why that is. If he sucks he sucks, but as a prospect he has a lot to like, and he makes a much better plan B to me than stomaching Dalton if Bryce/CJ can’t cut it.
  10. We indeed are saying the same thing. Odds will be low that any of these QB’s are elite. Only a few teams are lucky to have elite QB talent ever. I think the odds of obtaining an elite QB are higher if we enter camp with Young/Stroud AND Corral than just the rookie and Dalton. It’s simply another “shot attempt” that may or may not find the bottom of the net. We were lucky to have Cam, and many teams would have killed for Delhomme/Beuerlein production from the position too. This has been the most brutal stretch we have had at QB since Cam was healthy. We all just want it to end lol.
  11. This is more than reasonable, but this place will shout “bust” if the rookie doesn’t start right away, and perform immediately like an elite QB. It is always entertaining.
  12. No way. Any scenario that ends in an elite, or even top 10 QB is a good thing for this franchise. Who cares who that player is? I wouldn’t cry at all if Corral and Young/Stroud bust but Eason throws 4000 and 30 TD’s. Let people make fun of wasted draft picks while they watch us in the playoffs.
  13. He would be poached from the PS unless there is a way to protect his rights.
  14. I’d rather swing from the highest highs to the lowest lows. That’s the zest of life. You can take the balanced reasonable poo out of here.
  15. Corral’s arm and athleticism are better than Young and Stroud imo. Doesn’t mean his brain is, but he has tools all day. (My opinion…it’s okay if you see things differently). He isn’t as accurate, and he was heavy RPO so the reading defenses is a question mark…but the tools are there. I see him as a backup option as a guy who isn’t limited physically, is young, and if push comes to shove, if our #1 pulls a Trey Lance, it’s nice having something to fall back on. Or get cozy with Andy fuging Dalton.
  16. And if he shows out, trade him to recoup assets. If Stroud/Young bust for some reason? He’s a bonus shot at fixing QB.
  17. A fair take. Trading/cutting him when he hasn’t been able to show anything isn’t wise. I for one don’t want all my hope in Dalton if push comes to shove.
  18. Yeah I’m almost certain Corral will or has changed to his college/high school #2. Makes sense. …or as people much smarter than me on here have said, Corral is a piece of poo and is gone anyway because he’s a piece of poo. Whichever narrative you prefer.
  19. I loved his development when I watched Cam that year in NE. Glad he’s back. Absolutely nothing to lose.
  20. So my opinion is that his arm is good enough. Strong enough that it won’t be the reason he wouldn’t succeed. His throws just lose some steam when he isn’t able to use his body efficiently. There’s no arm flicking the ball 25 yards to the opposite sideline type stuff. Or rather when he does do that, the ball doesn’t have the same zip. But that’s physics, and probably related to his size. However…he’s still that dude because he’s so able to quickly twitch his feet to create a strong base in a fraction of a second. He’s able to do things like roll to his left, square his shoulders and drop dimes, and move his body to create torque-y throws while not needing much space. If we draft him, I’m prepared for some gunslinger type interceptions while he’s learning the speed difference in the NFL, and he will learn what throws his arm can make, and when to not make those throws. I think he’s smart enough to adjust to that.
  21. Can you guys shut up I literally just got the Bryce hype train yesterday!
  22. Yeah it’s basically Stroud/AR and a top edge/corner/TE vs. Bryce. Why did YGM have to suck lol. If he could pass rush at all…
  23. I’ve come around to Bryce. I really can convince myself to like both Bryce and Stroud lol. The exhausted view that “if Bryce was 6’3” he’s generational…” which I get… Well you gotta take the guy and hope he doesn’t get crushed. Take a chance. …but if the Texans YOLO’d #2 and #12 to swap picks…that makes things complicated.
