  1. Say it with me: WE ARE NOT TRYING TO TANK WE JUST SO HAPPEN TO BE ONE OF THE WORST TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE AND WILL BE IN POSITION TO TAKE A QB.
  2. Let's just not tell other fans how to fan. We're all fans in our own unique way and wasting our times here because we love the Panthers. I'm not gonna be like "Oh now you listen her mister, don't be thinking like this about the season and cheering in this apathetic fashion. You should be hopeful for wins and the only wish for the absolute best from your favorite sports team--don't aspire for high draft picks as a fan I tell you! It's a road full of demons and pain and suffering and hate and turmoil and darkness and lost souls drowning in a sea of depravity in HELLLLL"
  3. I do think Brady C. is going to shape out to be our new Hang'man. He's an ideal swing lineman that can start at a few spots, but I just don't think he's our long term LG. I have a hard time viewing him as a critical core, but he's a guy that should stick and be here a long time.
  4. Some of the tweets are making assumptions or adding figures that go in after we'll be making the necessary changes to get where we want to be. We have a hefty amount of contracts in that mid 3-7 mil range that add up a lot and they have equal dead cap attached. Restructures are clearly needed. The big contract targets for restructure would be Corbett, DJ, & Moton. Converting some of theirs to a pro-rated bonus would benefit and be instant added cap. I do feel like it's in our interest to get max value for Burns pre-trade deadline rather than trying to overpay/outbid for him. Send him somewhere he can instantly sign an extension with and get top returns in picks. I know it would be tough, but I don't think he's worth overpaying right now. And we really don't have the realistic space. And then elsewhere-- Shaq (13 mil savings), Robbie (11 mil savings), & Elf ($5 mil savings) are the obvious decisions. That's $29 mil right there with cap space+dead money adjusted. They're basically playing for their next teams/contracts this year. They can get to ~12-15 mil in space fairly quickly with not even trading anyone. Leaves VERY little room for front loaded competitive contracts but it's a start. If we play it right, they can figure out a path to $20 mil under and an extra 2023 pick with the only substantial player loss being Burns & Shaq. And are those guys REALLY irreplaceable?
  5. The DL has some promising pieces that are teetering on being core pieces instead of question marks. If that unit can come along this season, I think it's a good roster. For some reason, I have a hard time placing Burns here moving forward, I don't know why... Offense wise, looking ahead, I'm worried about complacency in the offensive skill personnel if anything. Feel like this squad is missing a true deep threat and of course a competent balanced TE. Subtract CMC or DJ, it's super pedestrian. Given we have some pieces finally on the OL, maybe we go out and get a Zay Flowers type to compliment DJ for Young/Stroud/Levis. Would love a QB-WR-DL type draft in 23'
  6. Bozeman will be the most telling. If he doesn't get out there after more struggles either from Brady or Elf, then there's more to it. You don't have the resume he does and then just turn into a Charlotte benchwarmer.
  7. Soak in the weirdness that is the year and look forward to whatever we'll see. It no longer includes Rhule so now we watch and see what happens with close to subzero-level expectations.
  8. They had him behind a random fave of mine in Ehlinger (who may supplant Ryan this season at the current rate). Juicy
  9. Is Jacob Eason about the Delhomme this bitch?
  10. I'm not saying the season is lost, it is still early and we've got the XFGOAT leading the charge. Howeeevva..I do declare that there may be a few I have a yearning to see Who may those guys be? (in no particular order) 1 CJ Saunders But we've got Marshall, Shi, Shenault, Higgins & company to watch and hopefully break out right? Well, you know, Marshall can't seem to find the field, Shenault is banged up, there's rumors we may ship Robbie/y. I mean, I can totally see Sanders creeping back into the mix off the PS sometime soon. I can totally see this happening. 2 Bradley Bozeman C/LG Does the highly regarding FA signing come out of the shadows? Elf played okay until this past week and was awful/his old self--Rhule is now gone, and we've got a youthful, well respected 3 year starter for the Ravens sitting on the bench. Not to mention, Brady has unfortunately been struggling at LG so that's another spot he could work his way into. And I by no means want to sit Brady C., but his best spot for us may be a swing lineman that primarily is our LT backup. It is time... 3 Brandon Smith LB I'm personally still excited about Smith. He looked really fun in preseason and has been banged up. Was set to make an impact but injuries. Not to mention, Wilson, Luvu and Shaq are all securely in front of him. However, his speed and athleticism could come into play and we may not be playing all these ridiculous 3-3-5, 3-2-6 type schemes anymore. Maybe we get him involved more if/once healthy. 4 Keith Taylor CB I don't have any particular reason other than the flashes I saw from his rookie year, but I really do like this kid and want to see more of him. CBs have been a bit beaten up, Horn is hopefully healthy, but if CJ continues to struggle and Donte is banged up, Keith is going to be getting a lot more snaps and soon. I think these 4 will be brought into the fold sooner than later.
  11. Exactly. It's also why I don't think we should feel content with our offense outside of QB and need to keep refining and building it up for when we happen to find the QB. Need more skill position guys competing. If a QB magically appeared next year (i.e. Young, Stroud, Levis), they'd have CMC and DJ, but realistically, have to think where those two will be in 2-3 years. Need to position ourselves for success for when we finally land that QB and not fall into the trap of just sucking until we have a top-5 draft hit. Stafford walking into that situation with O'Conner, 2021 OL, Cooper Kupp (who was the real league MVP IMO), OBJ, and that defense of studs was the reason they won. All of that coming together under a great coach. So we're back to step 1, bottom of the mountaintop: get the coach.
  12. Maybe they can walk Robbie/y to the Santa Monica boardwalk post-game and he kind of just wander around and stay there. CMC is probably already there posting some IG stories with Olivia at Century City
  13. You'd think a mascot gimmick poster would have a bit more pzaz and sparkle. Any consistent Panther-goer in the 90s-early 00s should remember the OG Sir Purr sideline air humps
  14. one amendment--realize I said HS instead of Incarnate Ward about Cameron Ward. Which isn't a HS/JC but still a strange school
  15. Yup. To be honest, I do think Darnold has more of an NFL career left than . Could become one of those backups that randomly has a good game if needed, but if he’s a prolonged starter turns into what we saw by his 5-6th start.
  16. ? I don't know I'm just showcasing the upcoming QBs in the 2023 draft mid college season, not trying to play GM. Highlighting who these guys are after the generally perceived top-3 is. But to answer that, I don't really know yet or have formed a complete opinion being mid-season. Each of the top-3 has their own knocks and it's hard for me to parse it out. And I like the potential in Ward and maybe Penix as well. I do know that Darnold is absolutely awful. Eye test, 4+ years of proof and statistically one of the worst starting QBs in the 21st century. I would not re-sign him and I honestly have no idea about Corral. Matt looked completely out of his element when finally thrown in and got injured almost immediately. His whole college career, pro day, and what we've seen gives me gigantic pause. Corral will be rostered, conditioning and study time with hopefully a good, experienced QB coach. We'll need a backup and a potential franchise guy and neither is rostered yet.
  17. If anything, the emphasis in my OP is about completion height, age, percentage, and YPA
  18. Why are you bringing this up? No one is talking about this dichotomy. Go start your own thread hombre. and edit: None of the top-3 are even runners. Really, Hooker is the only in the entire OP that could even really get that definition and I'm lukewarm at best on him for now. So I really don't understand what you're coming in with this debate for.
  19. He's also still young for a Junior, so may just stay at Wash St another year. Could use it. If their defense wasn't such open season for QBs, they'd be top-10/playoff contender.
  20. That's the thing, it's the Coug offense, he's not even dropping back, just throwing something immediately most of the time. It's why you have to watch the greater games for the drop backs and his pocket awareness when he's really needing to throw and not following their offensive script.
