Steve Wilks Likely to Be 'Seriously Considered' for Panthers Full-Time HC

"Likely to be seriously considered" -
Totally. I can see a handful in this crop going higher than last year's but the team-to-team rankings could be all over the place. There's guys like Stroud, Levis, McKee who fit the prototypical mold but the play is in question...and then the one's really showing off in games like Young, Penix, etc. are the guys with physical or developmental question marks.
-
Penix and Ward are both still looking like really promising prospects. But keep an eye out with Clayton Tune. He's on radars, may not be in a ton of articles or high in online rankings, but I love what he brings. 6'3 220, he's got the arm strength, above avg mobility, and he's become more accurate as the season has progressed. Absolutely pummeled ECU: Still digging Jake Haener as well. The dude is just rolling https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2023-nfl-draft-qb-stock-watch-oregons-bo-nix-fresno-states-jake-haener-continue-efficient-seasons/ Gotta say, the QB prospects are so much more interesting than last year.

Who are the dudes who you're convinced will be stars in this 2023 class? Regardless if we could or should get them, who are you absolutely sold on? Me: Jordan Addison Route running-check, NFL quickness-check, YAC ability-check, swag-check, big play ability-check, can line up anywhere-check. The boy also likes the limelight, leaving Pitt for USC and thriving with Caleb Williams in LA. Corrected his only potential issue back at Pitt which were a few drops here and there. I see no way he doesn't translate. He reminds me so much of Stefon Diggs with a bit more twitch--should be a bonafide ROTY candidate, insta-WR special. Will be very jealous of the team he ends up with. I get similar vibes with him that I got with Jefferson and OBJ in their drafts. Something just seems so perfect about them as NFL WRs. Just has it. Who you got?

Still waiting for like anything to be shown from him during an actual game. His best moments were mostly Wandale last year and a handful of dimes that have been dropped since. I'm sure you can dig up some decent stuff this year but man, it's been UGLY as of late. Never say never with guys with those tools, but he has two glaring concerns (1) age (2) no apparent in-game intangibles/"omg" type plays. He just doesn't seem to find the moment to make big plays happen. I don't see him utilizing these great tools he apparently has. Allen at least showed off his legs and arm a lot in college. The velocity on his balls was absolutely insane, just a bezerk arm. You saw him tease what could be built upon. I am just rarely seeing that type of stuff from Levis. Sure, its the system, but there's a lot left to be desired. Then you look at some of the other higher upside guys and they look just as good, if not better. Not many have a bigger arm than Levis' though so that's what teams may be coming back to with him. But you need to hit the ground running with him and I just don't see it. Who knows, maybe he somehow looks okay today. But I doubt it.

Shut it Dave! You shut your whore mouth.

That dribble has 2.25 million subscribers? What are we raising?

100%. If we don't land a good coach, nothing will matter. This next hire is critical. If it's a dud, Pantherland will be fluttering away like a bojangles fart in the wind.

Both Hackett and Wilson have just been a trainwreck. That offense is one of the most brutal things to ever witness.

Yes, that is the reality. Unfortunate.

30 years is the typical benchmark that's reducing and the diminishing shelf life has a lot to do with other factors including how crazy potential upgrade costs have become. See: Titans. In addition, many of the builds in the 80s-90s weren't part of strategic urban infill and larger development projects that you see today. It unfortunately ends up costing taxpayers but it just is what's happening; that's the reality. The plus--if these don't become cringe franchise-soaked districts, they could become pretty cool spots in their respective cities. A factor with BoFa is that it's been consistently upgraded and between Richardson & Tepper, has had $250 mil in reno costs thrown at it. It may be worth downscaling and keeping rather than demoing. And that process would likely be a later phase of a larger development plan that you could probably map out from the foundry's SW extent to the Duke Energy building.
-
Those comments always crack me up. An interesting path forward (if they go for a new stadium) is putting out an RFP for a strategic downscaling of BoFa to become MLS & venue centric. Instead of an eventual tear down, would love to see some modernization that brings it more to city level and integrates it with more park and plaza space. In the greater context, it could really thread the bball park to this new site and that Brooklyn Village project. Could see some pretty cool things in that respect, the city needs better urban space.

The structural rework involved in converting to a dome and the resulting renovation work ends up being more of an issue than just building a new place. You can't just plop on a roof people.

Of the younger owners (relatively speaking), I'd like him to model things like a Biscotti or Kroenke who similarly purchased their way into the league instead of family inheritance but they didn't place themselves as a Jones type czar. He honestly just needs to find his version of Roseman, Les Snead or Ozzie/DeCosta. I'm unsure if Fit and/or Dan can really elevate into the Executive GM type role, but who knows, maybe it clicks. That's the missing part on the football side IMO. He needs to find his trusted right hand (or two) and we're kind of in a TBD with Scott and Morgan right now. Internally, I'm guessing there really doesn't feel to be a need for an executive between them and Tepper given he's a bit more hands on. Just hope he owns up to the need if it becomes apparent there's a gap in structure. On the non-football side of things, Kristi Coleman and Nicole are running the show on paper/from what we know, likely with DT's heavy hand. That's where overall, I just hope he doesn't f*ck over the QC. I get the sense it's a heavy guided hand, with moments of "Dammit guys, just do this now, we need it" but overall, he may be a bit more hands off on a day to day than is let on. Rock Hill was a mess, that's really all that needs to be said, should've been elsewhere IMO. Just turn the corner, don't screw over the city that made this possible, and you know, win.

Yeah Carter doesn't look that bad but Josh Palmer ain't the best dude in the WR department. I'm not holding to some unwavering opinion but it's interesting to see how that team has changed. Still, they have a healthy Ekeler and most of the OL in place. Zion has been playing great and Salyer (R) has actually been holding up very well in place at LT. Was a big part of that UGA line, remember wanting that dude in the mid rounds. It's a mix but you know, why not get a bit hyperbolic to emphasize my preference
